Also not a big fan of how his opening line was delivered either. In the original, he was calm and composed as he was trying to convince Crash to hand over the crystals. You're not really inclined to trust someone when they're ranting at you.

In the original one this boss was pretty hard especially to predict when missiles launch up the air and they drop straight down in a line. This one shows you where they are going to land but the original was just the shadows.

Actually you can jump over his laser....You just need to slide before you jump....But I usually slide over it while those laser move upward

Bosses were always easy and the levels were always hard, have to say that Naughty Dog ( who did the original game) certainly decided to copy the fight with N Gin ( the lazer bit ) and use similar mechanics for the fight with the Baron in Jak and Daxter when he gets the precursor gem.

As far as I know Jak and Daxte came out in 2001 and the crash fight against n gin came out in 1996. It is not a copy.

If your robot exploded and you were being sucked into the vacuum of space what would you do? Deliver a 2 sentence defeat speech or scream. If you're a person who can't keep their composure like N Gin you probably wouldn't deliver the line and rather scream.

Jonathan Kang Naughty Dog didn't make this one, it's Vicarious Games. Although Naughty Dog were involved in the game a little, to supervise as it was their title I believe

N.Gin has had a lot of wasted potential at the hands of every developer that has gotten ownership of Crash through the years. Backstory in the original Crash 2's manual hinting that he wasn't evil from the start? Just make him as two dimensional as Cortex, never give him any character development at the possibility of becoming a anti-villain, anti hero or even betray Cortex completely(no Brio doesn't count cuz he goes back to being evil after Crash 2)and also never mention or bring up N.Gin's backstory anywhere in any of the games. See not even Naughty Dog could be arsed to flesh N.Gin out.

+robonaught - From a certain perspective I guess. Though I do miss the game displaying more of his bad tempered side - which in my opinion was one of the things about the classic N. Gin that stood out - it's great that his character is much more expressive here.

This is my problem with him. Naughty Dog clearly gave him backstory in Crash 2's manual showing he wasn't evil from the start and they go nowhere with it. This backstory is never ever mentioned or brought up in any games and he is just as portrayed as a two dimensional villain who is evil just '' because ''. Yeah not even Naughty Dog could be arsed to flesh him out. There's no point in giving a character backstory (especially if it's a villain) if you're not gonna bother with fleshing them out. Cortex is just fine being two dimensional. But N.Gin? He could have been like Bianca in Spyro 3. Besides the cliche / trope '' Cybernetics eat your soul AKA Destroy your humanity '' is kinda getting old. Plus Naughty Dog decided to do the whole cyborg thing again with Erol in Jak 3! He was already a nasty person to begin with in Jak 2 before he became a cyborg. Then again they could not be even bothered to give Erol any backstory.

This fight was probably the worst in the trilogy. It's one of the only one sthays actually straight up sucks. The wampa mechanic is fucking shitty. There's no checkpoints even though this boss has 5 sections of health, and it takes WAAAAAAY to many hits to destroy his weapons. So in conclusion I understand why and agree that this is one of the worst boss battles in the series.

Unpopular opinion: As much as I like the original, I prefer new N. Gin. A lot of people don't like how his lines aren't calm in the N. Sane Trillogy; but I'd argue that his eccentric, mad, loud, maniacal and immature speech is what makes N. Gin. I don't like the fact that N. Gin's final line in this game was cut out.
