crashbandifan23 As for myself, I completed this game on 2002 and internet wasn't as popular as it is today. Also, I had no computer at home back then. So it was extra hard for me, especially finding out where the Green Gem was.

I don't think anybody discovered this by "intentionally" dying... I discovered this when I was trying to backtrace to see carefully if I had missed any boxes/secrets in the bear path. It was possible to do so if you jump right in the side border of the wall. I knew it was possible because you can also apply the same trick to skip the moles in the first level. But I ended up falling in my first attempt and ended up discovering this.

Those of you who don't already know this, it's called Skull Route for a reason, because of the increased difficulty in a more dangerous part of the level in which it is based. It is a test. Risk vs. Reward.

Curious the way I discovered this secret. I wanted to go with Big Bear because I felt bad for him falling in that hole so I role played and thought something like: I won't let you go alone!. I expected to lose a life but when the action stops for a brief moment, loading... I couldn't believe it. I was so pumped, lol. Those were the days...

I downloaded this game and a PS emulator just to play it again recently, after playing it for what was likely hundreds and hundreds of hours as a kid. It's amazing how great the graphics were in this game for the era, and amazingly they only seem to look even better when scaled up at a higher resolution, unlike other PS games that look shockingly bad.

I was the one in the family who found the nitros, brother handed me the controller and told me that what ever I do, don't touch nitros or TNT. I was 6, and bein the rebel I was what I saw a huuuuge amount of nitros, I touched it... Nothing happened, so I started to jump on the first few steps, brother comes in and is like O.O it was awesome :D

I completed this the last day..oh man. Unbearable is hard, but this secret route is so insane that I now consider the main level to be a piece of cake. Anyway, this theme is badass, and it's even more so when you think it's the only track in the entire game to be featured in ONE SINGLE level (aside the boss themes, of course).

The bonus round & skull route tracks in Crash 2 are so much better than in Warped, because Warped ones follow a template (easy to spot) of which the music is made, unlike in CSB where every piece sounds completely different.

In my version of the game there was a glitch in the hidden route that let you get unlimited lives, there were 2 life boxes that always were life boxes even if you opened them and died, then you just took them and died like 100 times and TADAH 99 lives!
