Ah this level. The one that's designed to show you the true power of the Bazooka. Especially the bonus, that one's so fun. And then you hit the end and realize there's no Nitro Detonator in the level at all, so you NEED the Bazooka to get the Box Gem. What I like about this is that this level (along with parts of Gone Tomorrow) is essentially a tutorial on the Bazooka, but nothing explicitly tells you it is. The way the enemies are layed out, as well as the bonus, teaches you how to use your new power without you ever being aware you're in a tutorial. You're never told "use the Bazooka to shoot this" at any point, but the level is layed out in such a way that you'll just do it naturally.

Now imagine being a player who didn't figure out the bazooka until at least months after playing the game, mostly because it didn't work in the Warp Room or something else. I don't remember what happened, but I never figured out the bazooka until much later. Which, as you can imagine, made a lot of things a lot harder if not impossible :D

A clever move from Naughty Dog. But the absence of a Nitro detonator in Flaming Passion was sadistic xD I mean, you blow up the first piles of nitros so you can continue your path but in the last part you see the Wumpa fruits giving you the idea of passing without jumping the iron arrow crate and one can easily ignore those nitros xD Unless, of course, you were already acquainted in the use of the bazooka :P

The Bazooka was arguably the best power up in the game in my opinion. Simply because not only can you destroy boxes but obvilously enemies as well and the best thing is that you are never out of ammo. Just wish you could use it in Crash 1 and Crash 2. That would had made game play much easier especially for those who find the games challenging but then again it would make the gameplay much less fun as well as some players like a challenge.

First levels of each chamber ("Gee Wiz", "Dino Might!", "Sphynxinator", "Gone Tomorrow" and "Toad Village") are essentially tutorials of your new powers. Gee Wiz teaches you how to use the Super Belly Flop by incorporating iron boxes. Dino Might! teaches you how to use the Double Jump by starting the level with a box that Crash cannot reach with the height of a normal jump. Sphynxinator literally has a split path with a huge gap that forces you to use the Super Tornado Spin. Gone Tomorrow introduced robots with targets that you can use the bazooka on, as well as iron switch crates on both sides of the platform. Toad Village is where you would usually start your time trials and is the easiest level to practice the new ability on.

Ah yes, the unforgettable Wumpa Bazooka: because the wumpa fruits that are collected can be used as ammo. I once realized it back when I was six or seven years old, and my cousins played the game once they earned the Wumpa Bazooka.

It's perfectly clear why you can't access the Fruit Bazooka until after beating Doctor N. Gin, because it would be too overpowered otherwise.

You know, Garland, I sure that you'll win the platinum on three of these Crash games since you are very talented. I will root for you!

Thanks, but I just spent two hours getting the platinum on Hog Ride, so we'll have to see what runs out first. My talent or my patience...

GarlandTheGreat Doesn't the platinum trophy require at least a gold relic in all levels? A platinum relic is great and all, but don't strain yourself too much on going the extra mile.

Yeah, once I finish the second world, I'll probably just do gold for the rest so that I can progress. I can always go back and get the platinums later.

Thanks, but I was referring to the platinum trophy, not the relic.

Has anyone managed to do the crate bridge on the bonus round without the bazooka? I kept trying. I think its doable but timing needs to be extremely precise. Spinning right after jump so that you spin the boxes but don't fall through and die.

Make it to that point of the level without dying and the platform will be there.
