I really don't understand what they were thinking with all those hidden boxes, most of them are literally impossible to spot. If their objective was to boost views on online walkthroughs, they succeeded. Thanks for your videos btw, they are incredibly helpful.

Couldn't agree more. I've lost track of how many times I've encountered hidden boxes or gems that do not provide even the slightest environmental hint. I dont need some obscene level of handholding but it simply feels like poor design when a guide is pretty much mandatory.

I would say that this game was never supposed to be done quickly, even though it of coarse has been. It was meant to be one of those (for normal players) to be remembered and talked about in both how to do and in general for a long time, much how our childhood gaming was. This of coarse cater to the most hardcore of players, or at least psycopaths like us (or like me at least, hehe). I was never a hardcore fan even with the first game, a one and done person, but this game tickled all the correct notes that even though I just got to this level, I have done all the levels with perfect run relics (minus building bridges, that was gettin to me (ironicly the first part not the bear)). Leaving n.verted (other than for skins) and time trials for later.

If there’s anyone reading the comments now who’s struggling with the timing of the first set of crates in the bonus round, I’ve figured out a way to consistently get across every time. Trip the timer box and jump to the first timed crate then jump back to the ledge you just came from. Then trip the timer again and jump directly to what would’ve been the second crate. For me the main timing issue was the jump from the first to the second box. So this eliminates that issue. Still trying to figure out the second round at the top 😅

For anyone else reading, as im sure Rachelle has figured it out in the past 8 months, use her tip for the bottom and for the top, stand as close as yoy can to the boxes while still being able to spin and hit the ! Box. Face towards the boxes. Then spin and jump but dont double jump or hold the jump, just regular soft jumps so you have enough time! Got the top row first try this way. But man that bottom row second box killed me 20x til i saw your comment lol.

I am honestly so stupid. I always skip the bonus stage parts in your videos, but then I saw it was this one and remembered how complicated it was for me and how long it took, so I stuck around to watch you do it... and I facepalmed at 2:23. I never thought about jumping up there like that. I spent half an hour to figure out how to do it a different way. Holy shit wow lol. I always slide/crouch jump but it just didn’t occur to me with this one.

This level and the N-verted versions aren't bad or too difficult. I have managed to get both N Sanely Relics in both of them, what I just find annoying about this level is that hidden box placement behind that plant, so I have been doing a lot of back tracking to get it right, but fortunately, it didn't make me stressed out in all honesty.

He goes after boxes next to nitros a lot, like at 3:40 there are tricky boxes between nitros. The ! Box at the end of the stage takes care of them :)

Firstly I'm not sure if the game has been patched, as I know a lot of game create updates after being rushed to the market. But Crash 4 has sooo many bugs! 1 annoy one I found, which affected my gameplay, was in Blast To The past. I was following your really helpful guide, got all the boxes, but noticed at the end the box counter was incomplete....alas no Gem. After another 3 play throughs I finally found what it was. If you are going for the 'All Boxes' gem would strongly recommend players DO NOT obtain all 3 x Aku Aku masks and activate the invincibility perk on this level. 3 boxes I ran threw with the Aku mask, upon each play through, were not counted and the game glitched me out of obtaining the corresponding gem.

The trick is jump on the first one first at the top then you can double jump on the second and finish the rest the first one is really fast the rest are pretty normal times .

Just noticed you don't need ALL gems to get the Perfect relic, and I'm not talking about the Hidden gem. I've just finished this level in N-verted mode with 79% Bumpa Fruits and still got the relic.

Oh, so that's how I solve that Nitro cart puzzle in the middle. I just played through the level without getting hit with Aku Aku and backtracked as fast as I could to blow those suckers up along with the iron box. Guess I worked harder instead of smarter.

You know that you don't have to spin when you are grinding, and the tnt for nitro boxes is not necessary since you have ability to slow time

Once ya get the hang of the beginning part of the level it's actually nice and easy. Rightfully so aswell after that polar bear nightmare..... As far as getting the perfect run relic goes I found it easier on n verted cos the normal levels hidden gem can be a bit of a ball ache if not correctly timed.

a lot of people are pissed with that one crate behind the plant I'm not It honestly gave more of an " oooooh there it is" feeling sure it's kinda off camera but you can still see it when your walking through that area if you're paying attention to your sorroudings The only reason I didn't spot it at first was because I was more concerned with the "time crates"

I’d recommend doing it after the TNT explodes so that you can time it right, since it requires *very* precise timing.

I actually invented a bit of a "smart" tactic in regards to the bonus round: Since if you fail it, you lose your protective mask, I did the triple plant backtrack platforming before the bonus stage. And when I went back, I had another mask box waiting for me to end the level with. Just for extra safety, because I always get hit by something dumb 😅 I am not sure if I grasped the reason for doing the boxes between the nitros manually. I always ignore them and just explode them with the nitro trigger at the end and get the relic/gems all the same? o.o
