I got a 1:40 on Toxic Tunnels as well. I think sub-1:30 is a feasible goal. There's a lot more time to be saved if you can skip some of the cycles near the end. I only have a 1:57 on Nitro Processing, so you beat me by 5 seconds on that one.

For me Nitro Processing and Rude Awakening were the most traumatic levels, both took me almost a week. Nothing else was that brutal

You’re right about the Cortex Castle part. It’s such an easy level to master that on my recent 106% playthrough I unintentionally got the dev relic for it.

Pretty easy to see you've completely mastered this game now, even with only platinum-level practice on levels you're able to go at sub-dev pace within the first few attempts now, which culminates in the dev being left in the dust when you do make it to the end. I would say all of this is the hardest challenge you've ever put yourself against in a Crash game, but honestly you've just swept straight through it with ease compared to NST/Crash 4 plats, just because your muscle memory is fully optimal. Great to see all this is making the whole game very enjoyable for you, similar to CTR in a way where tracks like Cortex Castle, Drive-thru Danger, Gingerbread Joyride etc are obnoxious for a beginner but top tier for a sweat. Another example of how games can be truly understood more at a more advanced level of gameplay, as you need to rely on every aspect of the mechanics and levels to get there.

Great attempts and happy you got past two of the toughest levels in a single video! You've really become a master at Crash 4's mechanics and the general tempo these dev times demand. I'm not sure if you're down to play a Crash spiritual successor, but PsiloSybil just released officially out of Early Access on Steam and it's a wonderful homage to Crash 1 - mainly in terms of the difficulty, graphical techniques and gamefeel. The levels are mostly short and deaths can happen QUICK as there's no Aku equivalent to eat damage for you, so you really have to feel out Sybil's jump arc and catch some good cycles. Luckily, respawns are lightning-fast. You're never waiting more then 2 seconds depending if you get the lengthier death animations, so it's really encouraging to keep hammering away at a tricky part of a level until you see it through. I highly, HIGHLY recommend checking it out and giving it a go, even if you don't play it for the channel and more just personal enjoyment. Though, be warned, the 100% run appears to be nightmarish. I've been going for any% so far and even that's proven brutal. Either way, thanks for the videos and hope you have an awesome start to the week, Lewis!

I have just finished all the dev relics for this game!, I have previously done all for N-Sane and Nitro-Fueled, the last game with dev relics was PS1 warped, I'm going to attempt it to be able to say ive done every dev relic :O

I managed to do Toxic tunnels the other day, the levels the hardest in the game, but i agree that the dev time is rather generous, it was still hard learning the timings to skip as many of the swinging platforms as possible, but it was really manageable. I found levels like Jetboard Jetty, and out for launch alot harder. What level have you found to be the most difficult so far?

@WumpaLewis yeah, one of my first runs of it i got platinum, i thought i played it near perfect only to see i was 20 seconds behind dev time lol. Its the one level i can think of that doesn't have a way of making it easier, its all just about perfecting the movement to a science, at least the devtime ghost slows down a little bit at the end of level

You can definitely beat nitro processing faster as in a few of your attempts you had the 1st triple aku but sub-50 seconds and think you beat the dev there and it was 54 if not 57 :)

Toxic tunnels was the worst level for me from all the devs, managed to beat it by 10 seconds but it was the only level so far that has taken me more than an hour to get, just getting a clean run was horrible, looking forward to never revisiting it and all its horrible cycles again Also very sad that the series is coming to an end, i was promised content for the next year

I was playing Crash 4 on pc doing a 100% playthrough got to the last world and my pc hard crashed and it corrupted my game, I lost all the save file and have to start over again
