He's also inside of a slime pipe in the background in Heavy Machinery, Crash 1, and dancing on an unreachable platform at the end of the blue gem path in Hang Eight, Crash 2. I believe both of those appearances require 100% completion.

Finally someone who actually knows how to play the game and knows about the sliding spin jump! Do you know about the nitro jump trick? In the original if you have double jump you can make Nitros explode without getting killed if you timed it right.

As far as I know, you can only use both characters in platforming levels. Vehicle/animal levels keep whichever character played it in the originals, with the possible exception of the fighter plane levels since both characters had planes in the original.
