Ah, 8 years ago. I remember seeing these as they came out, so this is nostalgic for me. Needless to say, watching you do the Crash Remakes inspired me to go back here. This is probably the game that could benefit the most from being remade. Well, this and Twinsanity, since that game wasn't even finished.

The final and last true Crash Bandicoot game. Even though Twinsanaty (whatever its spelled) is good too, but it isn't the same style as this and the other crash games. We don't want beat em' ups and monster controling...we want creat smashing, running for your life like a mother f*cker, spinning like your life depends on it Crash Bandicoot. These games will always have a place in my heart. And the new Crash isn't invited.

Oh my gosh, I just realized that those big fish that jump out of those little holes in the ice have very creepy faces! I always thought they just looked like big fish because of how fast they jumped, but when I pause and see them, they look creepy!

This is the most requested game because I did the first three Crash games. So, it's not just a random platform game. I will consider doing Rayman, though. I've only played it an hour or so, but I seem to remember it was fun.

It is a huge letdown, but I don't think it's as bad as some people say. It's a perfectly playable game, despite its flaws, but I doubt I'll be playing it again after I finish this playthrough.

Ah, I remember this. I played it, beat it 100%, and liked it. Sure, I had the PS2 version and the loading times took centuries to finish loading, but I still had fun with it. And I love how the "True Ending" with Cortex leads into Twinsanity, which was the first PS2 game I got (along with Spyro: A Hero's Tale). 😁 I also remember how tough some of the Relics were in Wrath of Cortex. 😑 "Wrath of the Loading Screen," more like it. :P

Just so you know, Naughty Dog have stated that they would have gone the route of Twinsanity and turned Crash into an open world free-roamer if they had been allowed to continue to develop the games. In fact, this game was originally going to be designed by Marc Cerny, who was one of the co-creators of the franchise, and he planned it to be a free-roamer in the style of the Ratchet and Clank and Jak and Daxter games.

Heh, I would say Wrath of Cortex is the best PS2 platformer of the Crash franchise (not saying a lot considering the only competition is the Titian games and Glitchsanity but it's something?). Aside from the less polish and less fun vehicle sections the game stays true to the liner platforming the originals had.

It sure is a shame all the good platformers on PS1 (Namely Spyro and Crash) all went to hell when the PS2 came out. I haven't seen a good Spyro game for a few years now, and, though I don't know much about the newer Crash games, this game just doesn't look right. Still, I am impressed that you're doing this despite you not really enjoying it.

Playing this game through, especially on the PS2 last night, I realized just how ridiculous the camera angels were and how rough steering Crash is. And that second boss cost me 25 lives because of how STUPID the hitboxes were. ... It was a very good nostalgia trip though, that's why I usually play it.

5) Indeed it is. I know: I've got the Gamecube version. But the later death routes are about as short and about as hard, So I guess they made a special effort to take advantage of the Crappy controls. 6) Well it is. It's pretty hard to see in a youtube video, but on a TV screen it becomes a lot more obvious. Yep. That's why I hate people that walk up and say "U'R NITPICKING!" I personaly would say "Yeah, I'm nitpicking. But nits annoy me to the point of hating something, so deal with it."

Agreed...as soon as the original makers of these games handed over the rights to another company they were completely destroyed...the original 4 crash games, the original 3 spyro games and the sonic games for sega consoles were the best.

I agree with the game mechanics. PS2 was pretty hard to play on in my opinion. Also, I HATE the long load times. I liked the graphics, especially for the time, and especially the level designs.

I know these comments may seem a bit shallow but I felt these deatils took away a lot of the awesomeness of first three games. Might download this for me 360, I did have the PS2 version but the loading times bloody annoyed me, aswell if you wanted to get on the death route then you'd have to wait about 40 seconds each time you wanted to get there but died.

I was fairly impressed with this game, the extreme frame-rate in particular (Well that's about it really). The loading times are no problem at all on a PS2 with HDLoader.

5) Indeed it was, but with these kind of controls... Still takes a while. 6) Nope, it's a skull, just dressed in a scarf and bobble-hat. I have no idea why they decided to do it, but the skulls are dressed up to match the theme of the level. P.S. Lots of shallow comments = a deap coment. Lots of little things wrong with a game can make it suck just as much as one with one huge problem.

The Huge Adventure and N-Tranced also had the old style gameplay, and in my opinion they were more faithful to the Naughty Dog titles than Wrath of Cortex. Besides, Twinsanity was different because people were getting tired of the old formula and wanted something new.

The developers for this game seem to have done a better job than the developers for Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly. But, i like both of them fairly well since they are both the last games in the series' to stick with the Original Formula.

5)Yeah I see. I forgot about that jump- if even Garland struggled with it, it must be very annoying. Also, this is the first level after all. I hope the later Death Routes are longer. 6)Really? Didn't look like it. Well they did that with the Death Route of Tomb Wader in Warped too (it looked like a pharaoh skull). The Arabian levels had the DR symbol unchanged. Just explain some of your points.) 1) It is the same basic tune, but it's (I think) a remix. 2) I can't really say anything about this, because I never actualy notice graphics in games... 3) Just like point 1, the music's remixed for every stage, but it is the same basic tune. 4) Indeed. Whoever owns this game series now (I don't remember the name.) doesn't know what they're doing.

Those white lines at the top... Seen them in many places, including a commercial DVD (though oddly only on rips/while played on PC, not with a DVD player with a TV) but I never expected to see them in a video game. Odd stuff.

Also, the invincibility doesn't last long either. It only lasts for like 5-10 seconds. Whilst the previous Crash games lasted longer than that.

I remember playing this game on GCN, lol. I wasn't bad, but it certainly isn't anywhere as good as the Naughty Dog Crash games. Come to think of it, I felt that the graphics in this game were too much like the first game.
