One thing that really impresses me even when I was a kid playing Revenge, was the sounds designs for the cars. It's just fantastic.

One thing I really liked about Revenge was that sometimes animal roars would play when the cars were bumping. Made it sound they were alive and attacking each other.

EA may have told the developers to tone them down. Might explain the lack of Crash Mode in Burnout Paradise too.
