Top 3 course of all time. Played all over the states. It’s an absolute must play. Worth the trip.

I hope TC does a pod talking about his year of playing lefty. Really interested to hear what he learnt about golf and golf courses from the other side.

And why he’s kept his lefty putter (obviously cause he performs better with it, but still).

Criminally underrated golf course (somehow). Interested in playing it with the new greens since I actually liked the fescue before, but either way a really special place.

The only downside is the turf and the shuttle down to the first tee. It'll keep getting better with time.

It just gets better. Have played about 10 times since the open. Greens are as good as any I’ve ever played. Freakishly hot week for our area that week, it absolutely deserves another major

PGA Championship needs to go there so we can truly see the course how it was designed and not worry about the winner being 18 under.
@matthewkinney87123 жыл бұрын
This course is a special place. The closing stretch is really where it really shines. Get the train to honk if you can. Worth the money to experience true championship golf. Great caddie program. It’s also a public park, so if you’re in the area and can’t play, bring the wife and kids for a waterfront stroll (drool over the beauty of the golf and the sound).

Watching this totally flipped my opinion of Chambers Bay, which I have to say was unfairly formed based on the negative vibes coming from that U.S. Open. Hearing all the players back then complain really made me never want to play CB. And now, here I am, practically salivating to get there. Thanks NLU.

Played Chambers many times and it is a great golf course. If you haven't played it put in on your schedule when in the Puget Sound area. It could be a better course by restoring width at 5, 18 landing area and removing the coffin bunker. I would love to see the alternate green at 5 come back as well. Chambers has one of the best sets of par 4s in the world and is a must play.

Personally I love to see that CB is getting some well deserved love. Had a great experience playing it.
@WesternGolfAlliance3 жыл бұрын
Can't believe you went out there without contacting us at the Western Golf Alliance! ;-) On a more serious note: The USGA destroyed both the reputation of Chambers Bay, and (quite literally) 5-7 of the greens. Everyone needs to hear your summary, that this is a beautiful thrill-ride of a golf course and should be considered one of the top 3 "true muni" courses in the US alongside Torrey Pines and Bethpage.

I’m out of the loop, I remember the US OPEN at Chambers to be great. What happened to chambers reputation?
@jettbyrne13993 жыл бұрын
@@Realricketycricket I was curious too so I checked out the wiki. It says "Chambers Bay was subject to criticism for its bumpy greens, unfair course design, and poor accessibility for spectators.[10][11] Former U.S. Open champion Gary Player called it "the worst golf course I might've ever seen in the 63 years as a professional golfer", and Henrik Stenson said that the greens were like "putting on broccoli"
@chippycut14062 жыл бұрын
Agree 100%. Not going to knock Torrey but Chambers is a step up. Rarely does one get to play such a firm and fast championship course. Bring in Jay Blasi to restore the course to its pre-USGA incredible design.

@@chippycut1406 I've played Torrey and Chambers and agree that Chambers is definitely a step up. Incredible course.

Played chambers about 20 times as I live close and am playing Saturday morning as the itch for the bay is never fully scratched. But to be honest the greens were bumpy and the spectating set up was really bad. I went to all 4 days of the us amateur and it was great. Just ropes and you could really experience the course as a fan. A lot of people did slip and fall. That fescue gets slick as snot when it’s matted down in the sun. But seating only was a terrible idea. The greens are fixed now as they should have been before the open , I played there about two month before the open and they were super bumpy. That part really sucked. But that was a while ago and now they’re true.

USGA screwed up the greens and honestly, they weren't ready yet. But, the course is freaking awesome and highly underrated now that tour players trashed it. Play there all the time, and have been lucky to have played other pretty cool courses, and Chambers is a treat. With that said, it's not better than the Bandon courses, in my opinion. Top 3 course in WA (Aldarra, Chambers, Gamble, with Wine Valley just on the outside looking in).

The US Open there was only controversial because the USGA f-ed up the course by drying it out when they had a dry June. If they didn't want to make it the luckiest test in golf at times, it would have been better received.
