As a Vietnamese, i watched it lots of time and i know every Vietnamese do it too. My grandfather was a Vietnamese army in the US-Vietnam war. This part 1:28 got me right in the feels. Like The hands are more pink than Vietnam, Vietcong, or South Vietnam so by process of elimination it's the USA. Just the fact that the Vietnamese woman is bare (presumably) and blindfolded, crying as she's being strangled to death. Makes me think how many North Vietnamese suffered as much as the Allies.

THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND SHOWS OFF THE VIETNAM WAR BETTER THEN ANY OTHER MEME IVE EVER SEEN OMG. I love how it not only shows the fighting part, but the civil unrest in the US at them getting involved in the war, not to mention the lives and losses of civilians as well as the executions and traps of the soldiers. It wasn't just 'hehe Vietnamese are trees', it showed that it was a lot more than that. Not to mention all this wasn't *looped* at all. Not to mention it didn't show either side as 'good', which is refreshing. Both sides had their war crimes, both sides had there losses. It was overall just an awful time. This is an amazing animation. Being a very real look at the war. Vietnam was an absolute mess of a war. It showed us that war can devolve into senseless bloodshed and mayhem, even if the causes on both sides are just. Sometimes we are too quick to assign blame to one side or another. But it takes reminding ourselves that humans are not perfect, and especially in Vietnam, no one comes out of war with clean hands. Much love, from America. As a Vietnamese, I really surprised cause all the details are so true. Im in the genZ, and Im not a part of the Vietnam war then but my grandparents do. They told us lots of stories and things about the Vietnam war. The woman with the "đòn gánh" (Idk what's that in English but its like a bag, you can put things into it 0:57) who is carry her kid inside the "đòn gánh", which is pretty true. I remember i read a book long time ago, told that the Mother in Vietnam war usually put their kids into the "đòn gánh" to protect them from the mine bomb on the ground (because they was so naughty so they might be 💥 if they touch the bomb) I really respect you, Kim

thats sad, but at the same time pretty cool to learn the history, especially from a family member so you get an idea of what it's like and how it was; even if you weren't there. On my mother sides,her family is from Germany and my omi visits the US to see us for about a month every year, and whenever she visits she always tells the stories of her surviving a bombing that happened in her country, around the 50s. I can't recall what the bombing was called, but she said that when it went down she was quite young, working in an art shop she owned. I can't remember what she said word for word, but something along the lines of her having to ration her food, hide from the bombings, and food sources becoming scarce. She would get a little ticket type thing and would turn in it to get food, sort of similar to food stamps. It was really the only way you could get food and such, and that she could never afford any type of meat. The first time she ate meat was when she married an US soldier and came to the US, and was shocked at how "normal" it seemed to be compared to where she was from. Before she migrated to America, she had a son in germany and moved to the US around when he was what? 2? Then her son had a kid, which is my mom, and my mom had a kid, which is me lol. Sorry for the super long story, just thought it was interesting and wanted to share it with someone else.

It is sometimes said that a false attack on the USS Maddox is what started the war, but really that was just like the sinking of the USS Maine in the Spanish-American war, an accident leading to bloodshed. Really the war was started for no good reason, covered up with "good" intentions, and countless atrocities happened as a result, such as the My Lai Massacre, and the side effects of napalm and agent orange.

My grandpa served 21 years in the U.S navy as a Navy Seal. He also served in this war for 7 years I beleive. He had seen a lot of war and experienced a lot of things traveling all around the world . Vietnam was complicated and both sides committed war crimes The North Vietnamese didn't were combat fatigues which ment the Americans were given an excuse to shoot on sight if they so much as thought they saw a weapon. The Americans killed innocent civilians and caused unesasecery pain to the enemy that's why mustard gas is a war crime because is it's EXCRUCIATINGLY PAINFUL and that was considered unessasery suffering.

As a Vietnamese, I find this video very true and good. But I think you should let the Vietnamese soldiers wear vietnam sun helmet, the video will be more realistic because most of the Vietnamese soldiers wear vietnam sun helmet when fighting.

I feel like in the country humans fandom people see South Vietnamese as "traitors" while hearing it from a south Vietnamese point of view it's the other way around. Everybody in this war have different point of views and point fingers on who is bad. It's like nature, no predator is bad or considered the "bad guy" they're just doing what they need to do to survive.

Mhm. I can’t blame anyone for anything. It wasn’t the US’s military’s choice to go to war with Vietnam. More or so the government. The Vietnam war had a huge play in my family’s history. My mom’s dad was a Viet Cong soldier and my dad’s dad was a US soldier. I feel like I have to apologize to everyone even though I can’t control the outcome. ( I’m both southern and northern Vietnamese i don’t know about my other background on my dads side )
