I had a wreck about a year ago. I was able to ride home. Then the next 3 days were some of the most painful in my life. After 3 days I could move my body without extreme pain. No doc or hospital. I am fine now. I ride daily in all weather. It was raining when I wrecked last year. But I also ride in the snow and ice i wear a helmet, jacket and gloves

I was just in a motorcycle accident in June, I hit a deer 🦌 that leaped out in front of me. I told you about this and you gave me some good feedback. I tore my rotator cuff but can’t wait to heal and get back on a duel sport. Miss it. I’m thinking of getting another CRF. Good video! We got to enjoy life and not live in fear.

My cousin Beverly quit riding back in 1980. She was a passenger on a motorcycle driven by her boyfriend a motorcycle cop. Hit a retaining wall on US 281 in San Antonio, Tx at speed estimated at over 120 mph. Closed casket for them both. Asphalt is like sandpaper. Then my first girlfriend hit a deer on her little Honda and died instantly going to work. I stick to e-bikes and keep dealing with traffic to a minimum.

I think most of the riders who have the most trouble getting back on the bike are mainly riding cruisers, it's not a knock on what anyone likes to ride but it's just the general idea that most sport bike riders know that you're going to go down eventually and they also tend to approach riding from a this and that standpoint where cruiser riders are typically more involved in the emotional enjoyment of the experience because that's just the culture of it. it also probably doesn't help that when you put down a cruiser it's probably going to be really messed up and likely unrideable because nothing is protected.

I crashed 2 months ago. Going 65 and the guy in front of me completely stopped the right lane was occupied I couldn’t go into the metal median so I had to either rear end him or smash the brakes and slide. I only hurt my ankle and the bike was fine. I was out of work for a month but I got back on the bike 2 weeks later with a boot. It was scary but I love it

I live in one of the rider areas in the US, near Disney World. You wouldn't believe how many "roadside memorials" there are around here. Yet, if I want to ride, I just have to be constantly aware of the possible hazards, and deal with them. I've had a few crashes, one really bad one. But I love riding more than my fear would stop me from doing it. Just be careful and have fun.

I agree with your view on commuting and traffic. 👍 Yesterday I did errands on the bike. Stop and go traffic, gear on-gear off, tailgaters, locking up valuables at every stop. A ride in the country will be necessary today to make up for that bullsh!t.

CC, I basically agree with you; most crashes are due to rider error. The crashes (not serious, thank goodness) I got in to were my fault. The first one was when I was new. I was agitated that day, and I shouldn't have been riding. The second one, my little voice, my intuition, told me not to commute to work that morning, but I did. I got in to a crash on the way. Luckily, all that was wrong was some pulled back muscles; unfortunately, my bike's frame was bent. I stopped riding for two years until a buddy of mine suggested that, rather than stop riding altogether, that I get scooters. This, I did. I had a Suzuki Burgman 400 and a Honda Helix. I sold them a few years later, and took a couple of years off. Last year, I got the itch to ride again, so I got my Royal Enfield. I LOVE IT! BTW, lane positioning is important. In the last 2-3 videos, you show that SUV passing you on the right side. The reason he did that was because you were in the left part of your lane. The only time I change lane position is to either avoid the slipstream of an 18 wheeler, or to avoid someone coming out of the side street; otherwise, I keep my bike in the center. If you don't keep your bike in the center, drivers will think that they can share the lane with you-like that SUV did in your video clip.

That in no way compares to a collision on the streets. Having your bike skidding down the road 75 feet from your body and getting up with scuffs marks on your helmet and torn clothing. People who ride motocross are expected to go down repeatedly.

I'LL NEVER QUIT. I was in a horrible accident 10 months ago from a red light runner (went around all the stopped cars and blew threw the bus lane) that tboned me at 35mph. It hasn't slowed me down, after I healed up. Bad things can happen to anyone, even when it was out of your control like my situation. But no reason to let it stop doing something that you love. It honestly made me stronger (and richer).

Sorry to hear of your accident but you glad you came out stronger. You'll be a better rider too. You have to expect every car to attack you and what you'll do, if you always think like that you'll be better prepared. So many riders ride like they are in car, reason why many get hurt, Stay safe!

I've wiped out on a gravel road once on my motorcycle. I was wearing gear so I only had bruises. I've had more injuries falling off of my bicycle as a kid lol. But it's true.. just pick yourself off the ground and keep riding. I also seek out rural roads to ride on as I'm less likely to be struck by a vehicle.

An interesting topic indeed!! Imo if they are wanting to quit after a wreck, they were probably going to any way. However with that said I will always try to figure out what the true reason is and see if there would be reasonable probability that we would be able to salvage another rider. ATGATT!!

FU#% PTSD, I met with an accident riding pillion on my friends bike at age15. He slammed his non abs front brakes due to gravel on the road, the disc locked up and the bike went south at 160kmph. Hi C.C. have you ever thought about learning Judo or Jujitsu. The reason I am mentioning this. Is because these two martial arts. They Literally teach you how to fall in way to limit damage to your body. One time when I was riding. My front wheel lowsided and I Literally jumped off into a forward rollout. Rolled head first into my arms, down my back and up into a standing position. All I had was some scrapes nothing major. But I was so thankful that I learned how to properly rollout without hurting myself.

Crashed a day ago, luckily I was only going 35, took a turn to wide ended up in the grass, wheel caught the ditch and sent me into a high side tumbling into the grass, luckily I just have a broken throttle and slightly bent bars and some scratches, I was lucky and didn’t sustain any injuries just a sore body, I would’ve 100% rode my bike home if the throttle wasn’t broken, thankfully I still haven’t sold my z400 so I’m back to riding that now until my bike gets fixed, it wasn’t a scary enough crash to make me quit riding, I got back on a bike the next day

I commute to work on my bike, the risk is greater of course, but man its miserable to commute on a car, on a car all I want to do is fall asleep (which is a dangerous thing by itself), on a motorcycle I have fun, even on stop an go traffic, and because naturally a motorcycle is more of a physical exercise (unlike in a car which you just sit there doing nothing) i dont get even the slightest bit of sleepiness no matter how tired i am from work, also filtering feels amazing (not legal here in florida but i still do it)

Just crashed my bike on the trails recently. I hit beach sand at about 30 to 40 mph on my cb500f with street tires! Yes it was completely my fault. I shouldn’t really be riding my street bike off road. But it surprisingly handles back roads pretty well. I always wear my gear. Came out of it with a sore wrist and a few parts to repair on the bike. Good thing I had my gear!

4 or 5 years ago I bought a cheap 20 year old used v-star 650 with 35k miles as a daily driver when I didn't have a car. That bike was always having problems, I was constantly working on it. One day on lunch break, after getting off the highway the front fender came loose and jammed in the front tire and I went down with no gear but a helmet. I was scared of it after that but still had to ride it because I didn't have a car... it was not fun at all being forced to ride a bike I was scared of. I sold it and unsubscribed from cyclecruza and everything lol. Then 2 years ago I got a dirt bike and a then a year ago I got a 2020 Duke 390 with 1,200 miles and I have been loving it. Moral of the story is do maintenance on your bike, do pre ride checks... don't just get on that shit and go like it's a car... especially if it's an old bike with unknown history. Also I always ride with full gear since I went down that day. I just accept the fact it's going to be hot and I'm going to be sweaty, and I dress appropriately with underarmor heat gear under riding gear.

Had to sell my Fz-09 recently, thinking about getting a Indian scout bobber eventually, any thoughts?
@theprodigalstranger5259
@theprodigalstranger5259 2 жыл бұрын
The scouts are really nice but if at all possible get a test drive. The handling is very different from an FZ-09 and you might not like it. The wide front tire makes it hard to turn and it doesn't flick into turns well either.

@@theprodigalstranger5259 Yeah its a cruiser, not meant for sport riding. If you want a sport riding cruiser then get a Ducati XDiavel or Diavel 1260, amazing bike and powerful.

Yo Cyclecruza...as you are in the process of buying a new bike, why don't you try something like the Kawasaki z900 or Suzuki gsx s1000 or maybe even honda cb1000r I never see a lot of videos on this bikes.

After getting the licence, take multiple lessons at different motorcycle schools and your chances of a crash will be extremely lowered compared to a clueless newb riders. A good motorcycle school can make you "skip" decades of learning stuff the hard way. Always wear full gear. I crashed a couple times without getting hurt, so it never crossed my mind to stop riding.

When you have a family and responsibilities beyond yourself it’s different. You have no kids or a wife that depend on you. I gave up riding years ago but doesn’t mean I don’t miss it. A lot of crashes are unavoidable these days due to the idiots on their cell phones. Your chances of dying increase substantially compared to a wreck in a car. I ride bicycles on dedicated trails now and soon to get an ebike.

Cruza, I was thinking about an older bike you could get. The FZ1 is Awesome!!! One of the ones with ABS for sure (later gen) super comfy, older R1 engine. And enough weight to make it feel super stable. If you get the chance to ride one, they are awesome!

Those are cool. I might just go ahead and get a new MT-07 or MT10 SP. The ONLY reason I'll get a MT-10 SP is because I hear so many people rave about the crossplane inline 4 engine and the lovely sound.
