In true Gee Bee fashion, a scaled crash. I consider it a most unstable aircraft. It was meant for SPEED and winning trophies back in the early 30s. Yes, it won lots in their time, but 15 accidents, 10 fatalities in the process.

Delmar Benjamin built a full scale exact replica in the early 90s and ended up clocking 1500 hours on it before retiring it in 2001.

Less lift, less drag which increases exponentially with increasing speed. So short wing higher wing loading, short forward moment very sensitive in pitch for pylon cornering also fairly complex machine that gets the snot beat out of it each flight weakens structure.

Guys. The scale is huge and the fuselage fat. The rest is actually small for a 1/2 scale plane. Sad ending. 😭

Gee bee is a horrible plane. Very hard to control and it needs high speeds for landing. Definately nothing for beginners and even Pros have their problems.

Yes, the 1/2 scale Pilot had a 1/2 funeral with only 1/2 of his friends in attendance. The Funeral Home gave them a 1/2 off discount.
