On sewer speedway, it will be faster if you drop down after the early part of the shortcut. So after you jumped up to the tunnel, jump down to the right side back to the track instead of following through and going around

The Hot Air Skyway one is pretty useless, it looks like it would be useful but it's better and easier to USF if you use the left (non-shortcut) since you can land into a drift easier

I'm a bit late, but you missed some shortcuts: Polar Pass: In the jumping section before the straight road that leads into the cave, you can use the first booster ramp to jump at an angle directly to the other side. Oxide's ghost does that. Out of Time: After exiting the clock area (where time is frozen) you can use the first ramp to jump to the left and cut a pretty big chunk of the course. Oxide's ghost also does that. Assembly Lane: There is a small shortcut to the left of the last section. Doesn't save much time, but you can get an extra item there. Electron Avenue: You can use the first set of ramps after the second turbo tunnel to jump to the right and cut a big chunk of the course. Hot Air Skyway: Not an official shortcut, but you can jump over the wall to the left in the very last section and do an air-u-turn to save a lot of time. Would love to see an updated video with these additions and commentary. Like for example how it actually saves time to drop to the right after entering the Sewer Speedway shortcut.

You forgot to mention that in order to use the shortcut in tiger temple you need to hit the door with a bomb or rocket

The original way to open the tiger temple shortcut is simply to have one of the uga booga items active and the door will open for you automatically.

I think you missed one of assembly lanes shortcuts, it's right before the last jump. I can't say for sure tho since I still have to wait for an hour to try it myself.

I just started playing the game, the first track I tried was Sewer Speedway with Crash. And I can't seem to jump up into the shortcut at all. It seems as though the jump off the ramp is so heavy that I'm hardly getting up halfway, or at most I just hit the rim if I'm lucky. Could you suggest why this is happening? I'm an expert at CTR PS1 and still play it. I nail Sewer Speedway's shortcut easily on the old game. Also, I'm finding the handling to be sluggish, very very slightly lag in reacting to my turning inputs. And then it seems to not turn as sharply as before or takes time to grip. It feels as though I'm driving on ice. Very difficult to guide where I wanna go, struggling to get my ideal lines and jumps.. It's very strange. And I can tell from your handling on several tracks, u seem to be experiencing exactly the same as me and not being able to maintain the flow of fast driving cause keep ending power sliding into a wall

Yeah that was one of the hardest shortcuts in the original, they seem to have changed the game slightly so it actually benefits you to go a bit slower into shortcuts, going at full speed just doesn't seem to work. Dont worry keep trying and you will get it. :)

@@iamMisterBo so having played for a week now. It was later on that same day that I got complete hang of the game! Haha. Just need to understand that the turning input won't be exactly as ps1 but the overall speed and amount of turn is probably exactly the same. Im able to to guide the character to where I want to end up consistently now. And I've noticed, the trick to the sewer speedway shortcut (and several others) now... Is that on ps1 because it was an old system we would see the upward trajectory on a ramp and jump anywhere near the end and it would mostly carry us pretty high. But because now systems are lot more developed and immersive, you need to be more accurate in avoiding walls and maximizing ramps. So the trick is to jump very very slightly late and you'll get a massive jump way higher than the original as well. This works on other tracks too. I was so worried about the game earlier lol! As soon as I got that shortcut I knew all was well 😌

Dragon mines shortcut is useless. Not even oxcide uses ot on his time trials. It's only good when you have a aku aku mask and you know what your doing

Not really. If you enter it while boosting and with a good amount of reserve, it is pretty good. I took that shortcut on the first two laps in time trial and got way ahead of Oxide's ghost.

Glad that the fence jump is still there in Out Of Time, though it looks like it may be one of few shortcuts to have actually been made harder. Also, there's a shortcut (not a very good one) near the start of Meteor Gorge where you can land on a thin ledge with turbo pad on the left side of a big drop.

Missed a polar pass shortcut, at the first jumps over the gaps you can jump from the first turbo pad to the otherside of the track very easily.

You missed the shortcut in hot air skyway you can skip the sharp turn just before the finish line if you're going fast enough you can hit the jump before the turn and jump over the barricade and land on the other side

You missed the second shortcut in roo's tubes. Its a pain in the ass to pull off because you need to be at the speed cap but you jump over the railing on the right side of the map and it cuts off one of the turns making it a straight away instead.
