Pro tip: hold down the hop button (whichever one you use) after you hit the ground after a jump to go right into a slide, rather than landing and having to hop an extra time. It's an easy thing to do to save time but I see a bunch of people making that mistake all the time

I have discovered that you can press the brake button while mid air. Holding it down slightly while turning in mid air and then letting go will not completely reduce your reserves! Try it on one of the hairpin turns on Electron Avenue.

Don’t forget to jump a lot... Turning while Jumping helps you make a turn easier on many sharp turns or if you understeer those sharp turns. (Keep in mind, You can steer in the air 👍) Also brake turning helps too. You always want to make sure you never hit walls straight on, it’ll kill your speed entirely and can even cost you the entire race (if you play on a harder difficulty or online) Just remember to jump and don’t be afraid to use the brakes while turning if you make a mistake, you want to make sure you don’t ever completely stop. Slowing down will save you more time than stopping or having to reverse, trust me 👌

This is great advice, I got screwed over many times running into things playing as dingodile esp when I first starting power sliding consistently. Time trials are great practice for getting better at that and many other things.

It’s funny, I’m finding the game more challenging now than the PS1 version was! I played a couple rounds against medium AIs to see how my muscle memory was, and I could keep top spots but I had to work SO hard! These reminders are nice!

Thank you! I wish there were more guides to beginners or noobs, instead of everyone getting upset at people who's just not good at the game. I've played the original back in 1999, but forgotten most of it. I can win on easy mode, but everything else I get beaten bad. I just can't hold the drift for an entire lap or that sacred fire crap, which means I can't set good times on Time Trial and challenge N Tropy. Online slaughters me as well.

I saw a veterean speedrunner having a small trouble with CTRNF's Hard Mode... So it's basically "Super Hard Mode" without cheat, and i'm happy with that! (Not a speedrunner, but SHM is the most fun mode in the og)

As a speedrunner(sub 60mins original, so just for fun) getting to Oxide on hard was really difficult. Beating him made me want to smash my controller. But its do-able, and the feeling of beating him is so god damn rewarding

The AI drivea better now in Nitro Fueled. There is no rubberbanding according to other vets even if the original CTR had a bit of that. It was mostly because of the people reviewing the game were very bad drivers. Vets consistently were able to get a large gap between the AI racers on Medium even to the point of catching up in most map.

2 tips. 1 I dont know if many people have done this. So you have a shit load of speed and tight turns, instead of bouncing, right after jumping hold square, it will almost auto maneuver through the hard turn while loosing no speed. It takes practice since idk if it was intended. Also like at the beginning of this video. In N gin labs at the end of the warp tunnel, if you start powersliding before the end of the tunnel you can continue to have blue flames through the rest of the level if you do it right. If you do not powerslide before you get out your blue flame will be lost.

@@rileyparker5668 It is a possibility if done incorrectly, it takes practice and you are much less likely to no loose it if you are doing square in the air. It is possible to do the square thing while on the ground but much more likely to loose the boost and the reserves. but like on Electron Avenue i can keep a blue flame going for almost all 3 laps straight.

The importance of that final tip can't be overstated. Some races are nearly impossible if not completly impossible to win without mastering that drift boost mechanic. An additional tip would be to learn to use the brake button button for tighter turns like the last one on hot air skyway. Some characters (pura) can make near solid u turns with just a medium press of the brake button. Other times you can master the art of using a quick tap of the brake button when necessary to correct your characters line in a turn or change your charcters line to dodge a tnt crate or a beaker. This works best with characters like Cocco but will work with any character in the game when you get good at it. On some tracks you will need to master the brake turning trick to use the fast chracters like Tiny Tiger.

Honestly I like this better than original, but hope microtransactions won't affect gameplay, also leaderboard, cup online, and 2 players split screen online vs others should make it perfect, I don't mind if they tweaked controls for other players but I love it as its. Is it my internet or the servers that has connection problems?

The tips were helpful yes but basic. Telling me to chain my turbos is a great tip, how about tips on how to get good at doing it. There is a way but I cant seem to figure it out. You have. What is the best way to get them chained up? I find that I end up turning to much by the time the second boost opportunity comes up and I have to stop and line myself back up just to have it happen again. Whats the best way to get good at chaining boosts?

Long boosts as opposed to rapid short boosts. These will sustain you long enough to line yourself up for your next drift. 2 full boosts are better than 3 quick ones that fizzle out quickly. No other way to get good than to practice. No guide can teach you how to feel when to do what.

Just practice is all I can say, everything comes down to just practice. Don't bother with the shortcut as its probably the most difficult one to get right and will lose time (I seem to have that issue anyway), follow his guide and I'm sure you will conquer it in no time :D

Here's a tip. When a homing missile is coming behind you, shot a dynamite behind you. The homing missile will aim the dynamite keeping away from hitting you.

The higher you jump, the higher the bar goes up! You have different "jumping" colors, every color gives you boost when you land (red is top, yellow is good too, etc.)

Here is a good tip, stay off offline and do Adventure and Time Trials untill you feel ready for online. The players there show no mercy and its going to frustrate the crap out of you losing all the time, this is only magnified by items when you are skilled because it feels like they invalidate skill with the press of the button. I started playing this since the Spyro Grand Prix and i feel fairly confident in saying im pretty decent at the game so please heed my advice and only do online when you FEEL READY. Hopefully my 2 cents help you ready for online play if thats your goal. As much as i agree with someone who said a separate mode for "tryhards" i don't think it would work as well because they would just infest normal online for practice, Overwatch suffers from this too. Anyways thanks for reading and good luck racers!

This is by far the worst kart racer I've ever played. The drift, boost system is just stupid. Who thought that the only way to boost is to FORCE the player to drive sideways! So, if your drifting and an opposite curve comes up, well, no more boost. Stupid. What a waste of $40.
