Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled (CTR) - Rampage Ruins Crystal Challenge & CTR Token Walkthrough

Walkthrough for the Rampage Ruins Crystal Challenge in Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled (CTR Remake) - this one also unlocks a CTR Token in Adventure mode. There are 12 Crystal Challenges in CTR. Finishing all of them unlocks the "Oh, Shiny!" trophy or achievement.

You can find them all under Main Menu, Local Arcade, Crystal Challenges. 7 are listed under Crash Team Racing and 5 are listed under Crash Nitro Kart. You must complete ALL of them for the trophy!
Rampage Ruins is one of the 4 story-related ones from Adventure Mode (Skull Rock, Nitro Court, Rocky Road, Rampage Ruins). These 4 will give you a CTR Token in Adventure Mode, which you need to open up the 5 Gem Cups in the Gem Stone Valley and to complete the Story 100%.
The goal in Crystal Challenges is always the same. There are 20 purple Crystals placed around an arena and you must collect all of them within a time limit. These can be done on easy difficulty for the trophy. This video series will show you an optimal route to collect all crystals within the given time limit. When you finish this Crystal Challenge in Adventure Mode it will reward you with a CTR Token.

qasem sabbah I think changing your character helps a little bit. I was originally using Penta Penguin for whatever reason, then on Rampage Ruins I changed to Coco. Then I won that one.

Thanks for the ideas, I always tried to get the ones on the outside first and work my way in, but dropping to the floor after the first 4 is the best thing to do and then get the one just up the ramps later, I did it with 13secs left to go

It's pretty close to the original from what I can tell, but I only ever played the demo so what would I know? Make sure you're using the right character. You need to be able to make quick turns, so use Pura or one of the lighter characters, not Tiny or Crunch.

Turn like what? There are a couple of ways to answer that question. One is to not use heavy characters like Tiny, who have awful turning, and instead opt to use a character like Pura, which he was using. The other way to answer it is that he's using drifting, which I think he did a couple times. Hold down L (L1 on PS4) or R (R1 on PS4) to drift (alt controls on Switch are B and L). Then tap the other button at the right time to get a speed boost. I wouldn't rely on these too much during these challenges, though, because you only want to go fast when you're trying to finish off the challenge with the path of crystals you missed and not early on when you're grabbing the ones scattered haphazardly.
