Brad Robert’s buttery baritone voice accompanied by Ellen Reid’s angelic harmonies is the definition of audible bliss.

From u.k. I’m 67 now and my two lads played it to death! A fantastic album! Found it again! And I’m still loving it! Just done a dive into their back cat! I missed out on that! Fantastic band! Musicianship off the scale!

I love the line from Afternoons and Coffee Spoons where he rhymes "I've watched the summer evenings pass by" with "I've heard the rattle in my bronchi". His lyrics manage to be completely irreverent and pretty deep at the same time.

I had an eye to eye encounter with Brad at an outdoor gig they did a few years ago. It was during In The Days Of The Caveman. I was right up front and spontaniously waved my forefinger at him and sang "you're thumb and forfinger" and he followed it up by waving the same finger back and finished the lyric. Pretty funny if you know the song. They played to a vastly unenthusiastic crowd. Priceless memory for me regardless

I love this song (and album), but this one was a bit shaky. Their harmonies were so amazing on the studio track, and the pitchy performance here left me a bit disappointed. Still upvoted for a great band and a great song, but I'm off to the official release now.
@MasonBryant5 ай бұрын
Oh come off it, that was an amazing live performance.
@zedmelon5 ай бұрын
@@MasonBryant Eh. The music is pretty solid--but the vocals have some rough spots. Singing together they aren't timing it very well. And Brad is sharp on the word "God" at the beginning of each chorus. The last one is closer than the other two. Also, Brad's guitar is too loud. Not the band's fault--that's on the sound engineer. As I said, they're a great band, and I love this entire album--I've learned several of them to play on my own. But this performance could've been a lot better.
