My first time watching a speedrun of this, it's wild to see a childhood favorite wrecked like this! That said, I always knew it was sorta broken. I'd experiment with stuff in this and found out if you push physics objects out into the sea they'd start bouncing up and down.

Impressive stuff! The Cursed Splash is making waves, huh? Pun fully intended. I do have to ask whether there could be some way to just traverse over the top of Ant Agony's level architecture the way you do in the long corridor at the end before the Deathbot, however; it seems like if you could just walk over the top of the whole level, or even a significant portion of it, you could save a huge amount of time simply by not having to deal with all the tricky platforming it entails.

All of the rooms in Ant Agony are giant boxes with flat sides all around and extremely high ceilings, so unfortunately you can't just get on top of the whole level and play it from OoB. You can hit some of the checkpoints from OoB and death abuse back in bounds, but any death in that level in this run crashes the game so you can't do that either

@Cameron Pearce You'd still crash. After doing the Warp Skip to get up to the teleporter to Ant Agony, dying causes a crash. That trick has been in most Any% routes since it was found so AA death abuses are just out, sadly

So Ant Agony is the only level you do pretty much normally. How long did it take you to learn all the skips in the first 5 minutes of the run?

Most of the stuff in Hub 1 is pretty easy so that wasn't too bad to learn, but everything else took a decent bit. Warp Skip was tricky to learn but it's been in the route for so long that I've got some good practice in. Figuring out decent setups for every part of the new trick took a few days but nothing in the new skip is crazy precise so once those initial kinks were worked out, the rest came quickly.

@tripleheart3x Thank you! Pausing actually helps the game load things more quickly. On the boat for example, loading into Iceberg Lab normally takes about 12-13 seconds, or I can pause for 8 seconds instead and save a bunch of time

Every pause is to load the next section of the game in more quickly. The game takes about 2/3 of the time to load stuff when it is paused as opposed to just standing there and waiting

All these skips should work on all versions of the game. If you are attempting the nut skip and unable to get it, my guess is you are not putting the nut in the correct spot. You need to place it on the chunk boundary, jump on top of it, and then hold forward as you land on it. If you don't go anywhere, then you need to move the nut further towards the edge of the cliff. If the nut loses collision entirely, then you pushed it too far and need to death abuse to try again.

For the ant agony skip at the end, do you have to jump as the doors open or can you get up there with the doors open?

For getting OoB in the ball room, you can do it either as the doors are opening or after they are open For the Spyro cutscene skip, you don't need to wait for the door since there is some collision you can land on, but you can also wait for the door to open and then land on the edge of it

@@Joester98 sweet. Would it matter if I went out of bounds and continued straight? I'm assuming from what you said it would trigger the cutscene. Would i still be out of bounds above everything after? (I got all the gems but my game is scratched and won't let me into the room right before the boss battle)

@orangexylem The cutscene trigger does extend out of bounds so you will activate it if you just walk forward. Triggering it will also put you back in bounds in the treasure room If you want to see something funny, if you trigger the cutscene from OoB and then go back OoB, you can see another Crash just standing there lol

Yea they said that they released it with hella bugs and very unfinished. Justvimage if they wouldn’t have rushed it out and completely finished it. It’s my favorite game ever, Crash, Jak and Daxter, Black, Back at the Barnyard, and ratchet and Clank were my childhood and I’ve recently started playing them again for fun. I really wish they would just remaster the old ones and put them out on the new consoles. I know you can play thier ps2 versions on ps5 but just remaster them so the graphics look great and feel smooth
