Man i remember fountain skip. I think it was no joke one of the hardest skips that was "technically viable" on the PS2. The people who played Twinsanity, Pull, Qjere, Redhot etc. were some of the most skilled speedrunners out there and for it to stump even them goes to show how absolutely insane the skip was. I also remember when Dimension skip was discovered and the rush to lower the record with the new route. It was an exciting time to be watching the game. Great job on the video Riko you did the game justice. This is just one of those games that needs a speedrun history video, not just because its "someones speedgame of choice and i like it" but because it is a marvel in glitch hunting and sequence breaking as a whole. The slightly rushed nature of the games development left speedrunners with a canvas that was meant to be broken. It's beautiful

@@alkatraztsubasaAgreed. They absolutely nailed the design. And most of the jokes too. This was peak Nina too. She was evil and smart like Cortex (Leaving a dummy in her bed to sneak out of school, destroying the school in rooftop rampage). but non-verbal, reckless and naive like Crash (she seems way too excited in the rockslide rumble art, and during the final boss. Does she even realize she's in danger?) Overall, Nina feels like a child who's growing up to be more like her dipshit 'uncle' than her Dad despite never actually meeting that uncle until now. It's kinda adorable.
@OnePlayer4807 ай бұрын
@@SuperSillyKitten TBH Cortex was just delivering "Voice of God" throught all the game, most of his dialogue is compressed and several times it is definitely the Devs mocking whatever is going on because there was no time to adjust anything too much. The 4th wall breaks are definitely just them complaining about the worst parts about behind-the-scenes work. Like WoC not selling that well or the deadline ruining all of the plans about content that they definitely could have added with a year and a half or two more.

Crash Twinsanity is one of my favorite ps2 games when I was a kid. Early 2018 to late 2020 I was super into it when I came back to play it and discovered this whole community of people that loved breaking the game and discovering awesome tricks and skips that I thought were incredible. I used a lot of these skips when I played casually with my friend back in the day and he was fascinated by it all, I loved practicing the skips even though I wasn’t a speed runner, I just had a deep fondness for Twinsanity, and always wondered what the world record for the game really was. After seeing this video, it blew my mind seeing all the improvements after acorn skip, I never thought that the game’s skips would be improved further. I always wished the game developers had more time to do what they envisioned with the game, but seeing where we are now with the game, I couldn’t be happier. Maybe someday the run will reach under 10 minutes, who knows. Amazing video, 10 outta 10.

Finally I understand why Twinsanity any% speedrun for casuals watchers like me are like: 3 minutes of utter nonsense, and suddenly we're in Ant Agony. Great video, kept me interested for the whole of it! I went directly after this video to see how the WR was today, and just a week ago Gpro used a new strat to bring Cortex along Crash to Ant Agony and save more seconds, getting 10:22. (I bet you know this already.) Do you know how this skip works? Also, do you think after a bit of trying to shave some seconds, the category wil hit a new dark age since it hardly seems there's anything else to discover?
@KylieKyubii3 ай бұрын
I’m not too familiar with the specifics of the new stuff (100% has always been my focus category and I haven’t touched Any% in about a year now), but from what I understand; after you Warp Skip to the start of Ant Agony, you can backtrack to the end of Bandicoot Pursuit, and since Cortex is programmed to exist at the end of that level, dying there will respawn you with him. You can then carry him into Ant Agony and I believe as long as he is physically there with you the whole time, dying will respawn both him and Crash normally without the game crashing. Using Cortex throughout the level saves time just by allowing you to do a lot more strats, like skipping the Ant fight as well as doing the Twin split strats like were done with the Ice Climb Skip in the past to bypass chunks of the level. It all saves enough time to make 10:0x possible from what Gpro has told me so it’s a huge time save. Any% is reaching the point where it’s nearing total optimization, at least with the strats we’re currently aware of. You could honestly argue that it’s one of the most optimized Crash categories in general now, alongside CTR No Major Glitches. I think it’ll hit another dormant period soon since there’s really not much left to implement, but I also said that at the beginning of the year when I made the video, and even before that before Cursed Warp happened. This game is really good at proving us wrong when we say there’s nothing left, so I wouldn’t be surprised to be eating my words in another year or two lol.

Man, if we were to get one more Crash Remake, it needs to be this one. So much unused/scrapped content
