A pipe dream ending of mine (or even just an after credits scene) was Gale being in the hospital, her phone rings and she’s in shock and happy, then says “Sidney.”….and then it ends there.

All I keep reading in comment sections is people saying pay Neve what she deserves. Well how much does she deserve for only 5 minutes? The Scream franchise is moving on from legacy characters. The last moving staring Neve in the lead role was Scream 4 and that movie bombed. Now the last two starring Melissa and Jenna and with almost no Neve were smash hits. Scream 6 opened to more money than Scream 4 made its entire box office run. That’s why I was kind of annoyed by your guest suggesting that Scream 7 open with the killing of the entire core 4 and bringing back Sidney as the lead again. I can bet that would not go over well with the general public. Sam and Tara are beloved characters now. The shock value wouldn’t last and the fans would be upset. So I can see Sidney in Scream 7 but only as a secondary story, like in Scream 5. Anyway I look forward to more badass Sam in future Screams.

Very curious as to what Sidney's scene would have been. A knife through Gales hand would have been poetic for a writer. Maybe prevent her from writing this story. She is still the only character to have gained from the killings since before the first movie. I'd love a twist where she orchestrated the whole thing with Roman and maybe she knows stu is alive and has been helping him behind the scenes too
