Everyone crawfishin in Louisiana just an fyi any trap for crawfish must be at least 3/4 mesh and have a recreational crawfish license

The Fish and Game regulations of Louisiana has two gear requirements for crawfishing. For any crawfish caught for consumption, the Louisiana Fish and Game regulations require hexagonal mesh with at least 3/4" or 11/16" per side from wire to wire; the dimensions of 1" chicken wire or poultry mesh. This is to allow babies and crawfish too small to eat to not be drowned, so they can grow big enough to be harvested for the crawfish industry. Crawfish meant for for bait can be caught with smaller 1/2" and 1/4" mesh depending on method of capture.
