Taking delivery of the new Fendt 718 Vario. Its awesome.
My name is Crawford and I’m a farmer.
Being a farmer is more than a job; it’s a way of life. The good days can involve bringing new life onto the farm or sunny days outdoors whilst on others it's dealing with machinery breakdowns and on the worst days, sometimes animal deaths.
Farming can be isolating at times - away from the busy streets and city life - so this platform brings you closer to the inner workings showing the highs and lows and everything in between.
I hope to bring some context to how the food ends up on your plate, from your Sunday roasts to morning porridge and even the tulips on your kitchen table. Hopefully a bit of agricultural education along the way.
This video captures the latest goings on including crop management and our efforts to increase sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint.

I use to drive a fendt 930 and 818 back when I was last farming so using the old joystick I love the exhaust brake on them hit the button on the floor pull back on the joystick will slow you up big time with a load on and save the brakes on both tractor and trailers.

hydraulic top link is the way forward! not sure if he mentioned it when the tractor was dropped off but with the bennet hitch make sure you push it back out when you’ve picked up your trailers or whatever so it doesn’t stretch it out when it’s under load other wise you end up with a hitch that won’t pull in when you next get a trailer cause the seals have gone inside 😂 that’s after a few years but still handy to know from the start

Hydraulic toplinks, had one with our tractor when it was new, back in 1998 :P. Could not do my job without it. My old man wasn't crazy when he ordered that back then. And that on a 85hp tractor :P

If my memory serves me right you can make profiles for the hydraulic spools so there is no need for a valve to close off one but i might be wrong, as our Valtra with the smart tourch armrest has porfiles for different drivers/implements.

What is in your mix for the cattle if you don't mind me asking? All the best with the 718, great tractor to drive. On the road, use the foot pedal and cruise. In field work, it depends on what it's doing. Generally TMS or drop into powershift for silage.

With the joystick you cant go the same speed as with pedal mode with joystick mode you are much faster and your accleration is also much higher
