First time viewer: wow, that was FUN! Really like your style, great little course too! I haven't had an Ecto before so this was a neat first video to watch (although I acknlowedge we were just enjoying your EctoX10 II, rather than the Pure Ecto. Thanks for putting it together, it was a thoroughly enjoyable watch :) Cheers

If you delve into any more recent videos featuring Lil' Yella (like my most recent) it's virtually no Ecto remaining at this point. All of the things that were holding it back were the things that made it uniquely an Ecto-- the body, the gearbox, and the trailing arms. It's a beast now, it's just not an Ecto.

@@CrawlerCanyon will do, looking forward to it! ...so, can you build an Ecto with the parts left over from all the upgrades? And if so, does the process then start all over again? There's potential for a trippy little video series in that idea!

The Element parts box is overflowing by this point. Aside from a couple of bits and bobs, I think I could throw together another Element platform out of just what I have on hand, yeah. And now that that idea is in my head, I'm probably gonna end up chasing it.🤣

I sure enjoy your vids and content, I also have a good size course to drive on. However, I'm more into super scale trucks. I'd love to see a FEW of your trucks with a hard body mounted on them as they are more than capable! You build $#!+ like I do! 😁

I'm sure I'm going to end up with a Class 1 or at least a hardbody at some point. They're just soooooo heavy in the wrong place.

Hi, thanks for all those interesting videos and the result of your personnal research :) I was wondering, after almost one year, what was your thought on the belt transmission. Despite the extra smoothness, what would be the pro and cons you have felt with this transmission. I'm currently building an Element Enduro and find this quite interesting. But is that just a gadget or a good hop up?

I'm currently running two in the fleet, and the conditions have to be pretty specific. The belt drive is essentially 3:1 gearing where the spur and pinion would normally be, and we're usually running 4:1 or 5:1 with regular gearing. So you need to have a rig that is basically "too slow." Pair portals to a standard 3-gear and it's too slow. Go with a motor that's super high-turn/low kV and you're way too slow. I run a belt on a rig with a 760kv outrunner, and on another with portals paired to an Amazon dig box-- even on 1800kv, with 16/84 gearing, it wouldn't hit 2mph. So you can plan for it with motor choice. A belt on a Stealth X is impossibly quiet.

I'd like to do the SOA to my Ecto also, who makes that servo bracket?
@CrawlerCanyon3 жыл бұрын
I fabricated mine myself, but there are a number of off-the-shelf options out there, like Extreme RC 4x4 and Beef Tubes. I've also seen 3D printed mounts. I spent about an hour and am more than pleased with the results.

Interesting mods. How about treating Lil' Yella to a weathered yellow paint job? Here's my blue and white offering kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZyWmGath92Jg80
