I would honestly like to see a side by side comparison of vented vs non vented of a high scoring tire like the injora mud claw or fake klrm, to see the need or not of venting a tire, tests could be done with cut injora blues to give the best chance for both setups

Love the chanel ! I have a gatekeeper/ecto with the "classic" axles. Should I change both pinion bearings in the axle to bushings ?

Hey so im pretty new to the rc world, i had a basher about 5 years ago and i just got my first crawler last month, a Sendero SE. That being said im not extremely knowledgeable. I've run into this problem with my front pinion gear on my Sendero. I pulled the front axle off and the pinion gear is super loose, probably an 1/8 - 1/4 inch of play sliding in and out, also it almost seems like there is a tiny amount of space between the pinion and bearing when its set, its super loose you can push it one way and spin the wheels freely and push it the other way and feel it want to grab the ring gear when you turn the wheels. So my question is, do you think it wasnt properly shimmed from the factory? Should i just buy the $15 pinion, more shims, and replace the bearing? Or should i just go for the Factory Team ring and pinion? Love your videos!

I have an sendero se and have a few 540 5 slots available with many pinions available, would you rather run a 16T or a 35T and which pinion for each? The 16T are the factory reedy and a surpass hobby The 35T is an Injora Tuned Machine

Between those three I would opt for the Tuned Machine. Throw the Reedy into a volcano. The Supass 5-slots (black can, red label) are... okay. Not great. The 35T Injora is a decent motor.

Thank you good sir. I have felt this rig is great value for the money for the average rc'er. What would be the minimum servo? Like a 35kg? What about a fusion 1800 and not change any of the gears?

35kg would likely be plenty. I like a bit more speed, but an Amazon 35kg would be fine for most folks. I started with an 1800 in Baseline, but it never felt like I could get the low end quite low enough, as the XF is limited to a minimum of an 18T pinion. The 1200 is perfect on a 24T (IMO) but an 1800 won't exactly ruin it.

Will this be a new series about The Canyon Rigs? It would be really cool to revisit all of them (probably there are some that I dont even know they exist) Also, I have a question: are MST shocks good? I may be able to get some MST 80mm (all plastic, even the balls) for 25 bucks, but I have no idea about MST cuality (I know you have a couple MST rigs, so hopefully you can help me with this one)

IME, they're... okay. The all-plastic tiny bois that came on the Jimny are actually pretty decent. The TC70 upgrade shocks are physically the same size, using the same springs and plastics, but have to be filled with diff fluid. So who knows. I just know that I would snap up a set of 80s for 25 bucks, because the choice of 80mm shocks out there is DISMAL.

As a non element owner I have been curious. What was your thought process for making baseline, baseline? Durability, tunability, etc? I have alot of respect for the chassis just from watching him on your channel. Just wondering why the enduro and not a trx4 sport or phoenix or something?

I feel like that Enduro platform is the most vanilla of what's commonly out there. Every chassis has it's pluses and minuses, and the Element is just... well, it's right there. So I guess I was going for simplicity, for the "dedicated two channel rig." That way, I can focus on the object at hand, and never worry about the platform.

Element really only has one spec of axle, so yessir.

Where do you get the 5x12x4 bronze bushings? I can't find any except for in the kit...I checked mcmaster but ended up sad and confused.

Long answer to a short question: I don't. I have a single pair of the SE axles, and those are fitted with the 5x12x4 bronze bushings that the RTR came with. When I "de-bushing-ed" Baseline, I had a drawer full of the 5x10x4 that they used in the "old" housings. So everyone else is on pre-SE housings with 5x10x4 bushings for inner pinion. I'll put double blame on Element for this one. First point, they never shoudl have been using 5x10s on anything EVER. There's no need. A 5x11 is something like twice as strong. Second point, same thing: why 5x12, which is a size NO ONE USES. The 5x13x5 is EVERYWHERE. And if there's a guy that's blown an inner pinion bearing on an AR44, I'd like to meet him. So end to a long answer, your best bet is to get "old" housings, and use 5x10x4 bushings which you can get most anywhere.

@@CrawlerCanyon I forgot they updated the size on the "new" housings and I was just going off the exploded view for an SE. All of my other's are regular "old" housings, so I was looking for the wrong size...thanks! I agree with the AR44 design...way better. Have you ever tried the SSD adaptors to run the AR44 ring/pinion in their Element diamond housings? They work pretty well, and it puts the tie rod under the pinion with the c-hub clocked back where you like it. I've got a set of the adaptors I can send you if you've got some Element diamond housings you want to try them on.

I am having trouble finding the shock towers, any suggestions on where to get them

If you don't have the parts already on hand to change to the GK/Ecto towers, it's financially irresponsible to do so. you'd need two ASC42254 and an ASC42256-- which comes out to about 50 bucks. At that point, you could buy towers from Rock Pirates, etc. Artful Dodgers used to make the best looking ones, but I guess not anymore.
