Crawler Canyon Presents: ICFTW Vol.2, Part 2: watch the MST CFX-W "LCG" get... complicated

Sure, it's not a "proper" LCG, as I didn't move the motor/gearbox any lower, which is something the layout of the CFX-W doesn't really allow, unless you switch out the whole drivetrain. So watch as I create solutions to the problems that I myself just created.
Full disclosure, I will ABSOLUTELY be making front and rear towers for this, as I'm freeing myself of shock keys one way or another.
You can make a drinking game of it by taking a drink whenever I radically contradict myself, which happens like 5-6 times per video at the very least. I don't plan ahead or write things down. It's the best and the worst.

It's coming along most them lcg chassie's sit so low simular to how your going now. They call them belly draggers for a reason, your engineering, is about spot on with what your working with. Great Job so far!

I just built a GSpeed chassis for a Element Enduro. The rails are G10 but the center is almost 10mm wider that the ends. You put it together by putting the middle skid plate first. The put 2 cross braces on each end. The start a screws in each brace the screw them in doing equal turns. This will draw the ends in. Should also work on the aluminum.

It's looking great so far! Could the transfer case just be mounting a little further back vs moving the skid? An adaptor plate or 3d printed piece could (maybe) let it sit further back and still be much lower than factory. I should have remembered to comment on the last video that companies like G Speed just have you squeeze the rails and bolt the spacers in. No need to bend at all. I'm glad you came to the same conclusion you wouldn't need to bend the rails. Looking forward to the next 👍

I've seen longer front links work really well on SXC24s. I think it's beneficial to have a forward weight bias AND have the trans skid behind the center line of the wheelbase. An examle at 1:09 in this video. The Rock Hopper has longer front links. kzbin.info/www/bejne/roDbl6pthM6fhJY

Can't you leave the center bracket where it is and make a plate for the transmission case, that screws onto the center bracket and the transmission case but allows you to set, only the transmission case, not the center bracket further back? I don't know about you, but I'm pretty excited!

I thought the goal was to get rid of the shock keys?

Yo! Why not leave the skid in place, drill new holes in the skid for the t case.

Feel like that would be a more effective fix and you can maintain factor link geometry.

Production quality? Uh yeah that is exactly what i see. Look, change a few of the holes and bam. Lcg on all of your rigs. Here just take my money.
