This is the Quickview of the FMS Jimny RTR in 1/12th scale. It's a tiny thing. I'm 100% not qualified to thoroughly review this, but nevertheless here we are.

This was by far my favorite episode so far just because I finally got to see a small scale crawler on your channel. Pretty sick of just 1/10 scale rigs & they are getting old quick after years now.

Great video! But I think you should definitely consider getting one of the fcx18 LC80's or the fcx24 power wagon. They are really good for what they are. Im betting you'd be impressed by their performance after some modifications.

A delightful tangent into tinier tiny trucks. That being said, I'd love to see FMS send you the 1/6 Jimny and see what you can do with it! Same with the Roc Hobby 1/6 MB Scaler (Willys Jeep).

This was so much fun. The joy in your voice. And those small FMS rigs are so scale it's almost ridiculous. did you notice the little steering wheel move when you turn the wheels? :D I have been eyeing one of those for a while, but they're like 300 bucks here, and that's just too much.

This is one little rig that proves you can’t judge it by it’s size! Not only is it true to scale, the features puts it in a league of it’s own at this point. I love the actual performance, drivability and the super low speeds makes it more realistic on nice trails that aren’t too extreme….after all, one wouldn’t try driving an actual one over boulders, five or six foot high abutments walls etc. Great review and so fun to watch your reactions to this Jimny, even the slight disappointment but overall enjoyment with it!

@@DTW-bx2vy If I had the money to do it, I would send a proper comp-style 24th scale to the Canyon to see how well it would do there. My most built up SCX24 can do some seriously crazy stuff, and a lot of times keep up with my more stock-ish 10th scale rigs.

That tx wheel uses the same square drive as traxxas ones. I used a Traxxas wheel, removed the wheel foam, and stretched a 1.2 tire onto it.

I really didn’t realize how small it was from its pictures until you put your catcher mitts on it…. Can I say it and get it out of the way… It’s cute 😂 I guess it would be a good trailer for the kids. But sorry it’s not your cup of coffee.

Great review. The giggles are the true tell. I own one of these myself from last year at $99 and they are a joy. Surprisingly capable for what it is. A nightmare to take apart. The wheels dont just come off with the M3 nut either. They brake rotor and everything is all holding that stuff on. Its a jigsaw puzzle for certain. Definitely ESC/Reciever combo. Great fun. Thanks for sharing.

I have a 1/18 scale CR18P rockvan. It is a sister company or something to fms. It’s one of my favorite crawlers. It’s got the turn signals and everything like the jimny does, but it’s a little more capable. I have a crawler course in my back yard intended for my scx24, but it is more fun with my little van.

The "pivot arms" are a pair of leaf hangers from a Trailfinder 2. Those are bolted to an aluminum plate, and the flat section of the cage is bolted to that. Pretty straightforward, just used what was lying around.

I love this little bugger! Amazing detailed model! The best I’ve seen so far! One question for you or anyone out there in the comments? How’s your esc. Fairing for you guys on your jimny? Mine burned out within a week of use! After I ran it on the trail when the first battery died, I tried installing a cool fully charged one, and all of a sudden it’s started to smell burnt electrical wires and smoke coming out of the esc.! Luckily I quickly removed the battery before it exploded and saved the model. But the esc, took a dive on mine. Now I have a useless rc that I have to see if I can fix!😮

Now you're entering into 'Dad territory'....where you're gonna have to construct a portable crawling arena that can be moved out of the way when Mom is tired of looking at it. LOL. Only to bring it back out two days later when the kids want to play again. I'm referring to18th and 24th scale though. So that Jimny is huge for those size of courses.

great review! I admire the level of detail of this brand! But there is something that worries me a lot, is it the quality of the stock electronics, esc, battery, servo, were these 3 components designed to last long periods of use? Can Fms live up to axial, gmade, kyosho or traxxas in terms of electronic quality? Is Fms a 100% Chinese brand? Is your electronics made to last many gaming sessions? Great contribution!

I can't speak to longevity as the Jimny lives in Norway now, but I would say... probably not? In the US, these can be had for $99, so I wouldn't expect much above toy-grade for the included RTR electronics. They will however be cheap to replace, as micro stuff does save you quite a bit compared to 1/10, where the cheap motor/ESC option is $80.

FMS does a really nice job with the scale details on all of their trucks. They look great but I'm not a fan of anything smaller than 1/10th scale, it just becomes less capable overall and suited only for indoors. Also, how can a truck that small have such a gargantuan turning radius?!! 😂
@CrawlerCanyon
@CrawlerCanyon 9 ай бұрын
I think that at best it have a 30º turning angle, but is probably closer to 25º. This exact vehicle swelled to a +310mm wheelbase-- complete with all the neat scale details, but around a 95mm tire, would be amazing.

I feel like while cerulean is an absolute top-tier word, if someone asked what color a thing was and you said, "Cerulean" they would have no idea what color the thing was.
