My Zebra crayfish is molting right now. I think there are worm eggs on the molt, She is a new crayfish and I have had verry bad molting problems before. So I think I need to take the molt out when she molts to keep worm eggs from hatching in the tank. I have heard that you can give egg shell to your crayfish if you take out the molt. Do you think I should take out the molt and give it egg shell or something else?

Ok long story short! I bought one, (Leonardo da pinchi) he molted like three times since I got him(4/5 weeks) and he's huge now! Is this frickin normal!🤷 Also I think he hates me🥺 how to convince him I'm not trying to eat him every time I move...

My crayfish has she'll rot but only on the claw I was wondering (I know that there claws reform) is there a way to remove a claw? :Edit: I did do the salt baths but it hasn't been working

Removing the claw can be stressful, if it is a adult it’s claw will never regrow the same. As a adult they molt once or twice a year so if it’s a adult it will likely never re grow its claw. It takes two molts to regrow claws. If you need to remove the claw if it’s bad then definitely do but the salt baths will only stop it from spreading until it molts, then it will be fixed. It has to molt to get rid of shell rot that’s the main thing many people don’t understand. I have had multiple crayfish with shell rot be just fine after a molt. It’s likely not something I would remove the claw for.

I have that exact same crawfish you have. Its a painted devil crawfish and mines accidentally broke two of its legs so it's struggling to walk but it perfectly healthy. So it should survive.😅

Anybody has a situation with fur on crayfish claws? I’ve recently just got one and I’m learning about them but I’ve googled it and not helpful. She seems okay although not really eaten much (I guess she’s getting used to things) thanks

Its likely algea or some kind of grass, no big deal you can clean it off with a toothbrush.
