It is truly remarkable that he had legs, claws, a body inside his body, like he is two lobsters in one (even more than two as he molted before and likely will molt again). Makes one wonder, how many Leons are in Leon? One of the most striking parts of the video to me was the comparison of the claws. It is incredible how the second claw "grew" but was a different claw. The teeth look exactly the same, as though it was the same claw growing. But it was an entirely different claw.

I have to say, Brady, I have enjoyed your journey with Leon. I am 68 and always loved eating Lobster But after watching Leon I have stopped eating them. When you mentioned about the shock they must feel when put in boiling water, It gave me the chills. I would love to get a lobster from the store but here in Kentucky, all I would be able to do would be get a crab at the local Asian store. As for Leon, it is shocking to see how big his claws are after a molt. Hopefully, you will have many to compare in the years to come. Now that Leon is getting bigger are you going to have to get a bigger home for him? The one he is in now is starting to look small.

I've always been vegetarian (well since my mom read me Charlotte's Web around 6 and then took me to Austria to her farming village!!). As a child growing up in New Orleans I remember when my family or neighbors would have "crawfish boils", I would always steel one or two and bring them to the levee and set them free. I think, without being preachy, Brady and Leon have probably saved many lobsters and maybe even other animals. Maybe even crueler then being boiled alive is being starved with claws tied together (imagine being starved with handcuffs) for weeks? months? Leon was probably broken and wishing for death when he was chosen from the tank and voila, he's a star of the internet, living the life, given treats regularly and getting better and better digs.

I used to work in the seafood department at Sobeys, a Canadian grocery chain. Over my years of employment, I probably steamed and sold thousands of live lobsters. During my time there, it was starting to become more widely known that most seafood, lobsters included, definitely feel pain, it's just not currently known to what extent. Moreso; lobsters, squid, and octopus are all now scientifically understood to be sentient. You and Leon have brought me a view far more profound than I had before and with it, a deeper regret.
