Crayfishing off the East Coast of Gisborne, New Zealand. One of my favorite places on the planet. Was so lucky some of the locals who I've grown to know and love, took me out on the water. Of course I had to bring my Panasonic GH5 along. We went out on a beautiful morning where the Sun seemed to kiss the Sea. Also, the crayfish was bomb! :)

They are crayfish. locals call them crayfish, so they are crayfish. Please have some respect. Yes, we call them spiny lobsters here, and crayfish are tiny things in louisiana, but it does not mean we are correct and he was wrong. We all use English slightly differently, our English is not better than English in UK, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, etc..........

For everyone, IN NZ THEY ARE COMMONLY CALLED CRAYFISH. YES YOU MAY CALL THEM SOMETHING DIFFERENT BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN THAT YOU ARE RIGHT AND WE ARE WRONG.
@wangkom
@wangkom 2 жыл бұрын
While I do get your point, you also need to take into account your audience. Since globally they are more commonly known as lobsters and people using KZbin are a global audience, wouldn't you want to have your video show up in your intended search results? Most people searching for "Crayfish" aren't going to be too pleased with the search results when they see a video about lobsters...

those lucky bastards, i used to dive for crays but unfortunately i got fat and had 2 heart attacks,, jan 2019 my sister thought she would order a fresh cray for my mum's birthday as a treat. my mum has advanced Parkinson's disease so my sister wanted to do something special for her because cray is my mum's favourite food and she has not eaten it in years,, my sister made sure they could cook it for her but failed to ask for the price,, when she collected the cray it cost her $200, i told my sister she was scammed and no way was that cray fresh and just cooked,,, it was dry, stringy and watery, also the cray was limp like they cooked it from frozen. hopefully one day i can afford to buy her a fresh cray and cook it myself,

I know you measure your catch so those crays are defo legal but shucks, they're still pretty small. When we were kids (I'm in my 60's now) living in the Far North, we used to chow down on much bigger ones that our uncles and cuzzies caught. It's been over 30 years since I last wrapped my laughing gear around a decent feed of crayfish coz I refuse to pay moonbeams for one that might weigh 1.5-2kg...that's if you can find one of course. Guess times have changed....along with the kaimoana😔
