Crayons & Wax Seal Stamps

As an alternative to the bottle sealing wax pellets you suggested, we have had good wax seal mixture results cutting up mini hot glue sticks and using that in a 50/50 ratio with crayon pieces.

If you keep the stamps cold before pressing it might work better. Does for me anyways. (I use an ice pack and set stamps on it to keep cold between pressing/sealing).

Hi there! I used to do that, but I found a much better solution. I am not sure if you were able to watch my video on clear wax seals, but that is where I explain that rubbing alcohol does wonders. You don't have worry about putting your seals on ice and wait for them to cool. Thank you for coming and visiting me today! I really appreciate it!

@@Chafalota I am not sure what you referring to exactly. I haven't had any issues what so ever. I use an electric heat tool; now, if you are using a candle, you know that you are not supposed to spray alcohol on direct flame, It's common sense. And, if you are asking if this is dangerous, you should also ask why do we have a dishwasher or a sink next to our stoves, or why is there an open flame on gas stoves... There are far more dangerous things around us. I do not, personally think that this is one of them.

I'm very new to wax sealing, but I have seen others mixing hot glue into the crayons to make them more of the consistency of sealing wax

I am so crazy abut wax seals, lol almost every project I do has wax seals. I think they are wonderful. I think that is a great idea. The main reason I have not done it yet is because I only have glue sticks and I don't feel "contaminating" any of my wax seal spoons with glue. Oh, absolutely. The little "tray" that I used is silicone, but you do have to mix the crayons with wax, otherwise it will break; it's just too brittle by itself.

@Lana By Lana Design would be need if you used stencils and crayons with was melts to make pendants for necklaces! Also a clear weatherproof sealant to keep the crayons from bleeding. I am wondering how to make the pendants a little thicker..unsure

No need. Rubbing alcohol works better. The point is that you cannot use just crayons to make seals, they are way too brittle; that is why it's important to mix them with wax.

crayons are made from soy wax and that's the big difference. just add paraffin wax for seals,
