I really felt for first rate, he’s a nice guy and a good dj, but this as someone said was a body bag battle for Craze. I have been to many battles and never seen such a beating in this way Craze was and still is a beast on the decks

I'm from the UK and like The Scratch Perverts, but Tony Vegas and the poor man's Tony Vegas, First Rate annoy the shit out of me with their I'm only going to use one turntable routines in battles. If scratching ahh over a beat was all they had to do, then, yeah Qbert is more skilled. Craze has always been a sick ass juggler and just the way he puts routines together is sick. Transitions, storytelling, and flow.

@@colossus808e Q is a multiple dmx champ, he does it all masterfully the whole shibang, juggling thats too easy for him, he knew scratching was the hardest level thats why he the is worlds greatest DJ no question.

I don't really get most of the comments here, Craze is good no doubt but he used pretty old techniques. Safe scratching. First Rate on the other hand was well ahead of the game here he did more technical scratching/juggling with one hand, use of up faders etc. Just all round more advanced and difficult, a sign of how scratching evolved in the coming years.

But the ultimate question is this: how can you be creative and innovative when you’re sloppy and lack substance? First Rate may be promoting new techniques and styles at hand, but he lacked substance. Craze harped on style on his intro break of his set and lo and behold demonstrated it: cleanliness, straight up style, and meaning into it all. Listen closely to Craze’s sets over and over. You’ll hear what I mean.
