Yesterday I had some random guy ask me fishing questions at the ramp while I was doing my pre-launch routine. I had never seen this guy before, I didn't know him. It caught me off guard and like I said, interrupted my pre launch routine up a little. Nothing to be concerned with right? I decided to be nice and told this stranger to go grab his gear and hop in, I was going to take him bass fishing. So we get out there and had been fishing for about 30 minutes and I noticed the boat felt really sluggish. That's right, I forgot to put the plug in. We ran back to the bank bilge pump blasting. I was mad and embarrassed. "Ken" told me that his brother says he is bad luck on a boat and he apologized. I was not mad at him though. He didn't do anything wrong. All he did was ask a few questions. I was going to call it a day and go home since I was mad at myself but instead I fixed the problem, regrouped, cleared my head, decided to continue fishing. Eventually I was able to put Ken"on his first lipless crankbait bass ever. I too could have ended my day on a bad note but I didn't. It felt great watching Ken catch that bass.

I was just at a KBF tourney on CL. Lost my kicker fish on day 1. Didn’t make a big fuss, threw back out and ended up getting another decent one to round out my day. Point being, and like you had said in the video; had I made a big deal about it and lost it I might have never gotten that final fish in order to be competitive for day 2. Guess what I’m trying to say is thank you for posting all you guys do, good and bad. Hope this reaches you well. Have a great weekend coming up and a good Labor Day. Be well, and tight lines.

The entire Delta Complex is loaded with areas like that. I wouldn't be surprised if that escapade Matt and Tim went through was simply just out of Frank's Tract. I was on a boat literally every single day for 2 straight months, no days off, while doing a Salmon Migration survey for DWR a few years ago. Some of it in the middle of the night as it was predicated, in part, on tidal influences. We ranged between Clifton Court Forebay, Stockton, the confluence of the Sac and SJ rivers, to Antioch and virtually every inch in between. We encountered an incredible number of unmarked navigational hazards such as this. We learned the delta incredibly well but that is one place that you must be super aware. One of the perks was I had my bass boat in a slip where we based our workboat. I'd come in from a long haul of recording data, tie up the work boat and jump in my bass boat right next to it and go slay the Bass to my heart's content.

This year is gonna be all about coming out of my comfort zone and throwing this big baits most people say “you’re not gonna get anything with that”. It’s nice to see that you guys are just normal people too and have bad/crazy days too. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for being real and sharing screw ups. My day started with a 6' gar biting my 6 inch Bull Shad swim bait. Got the fish to the boat and while trying to unhook him with the pliers, the fish broke the line with its teeth and swam away with my $60 swim bait. Being mad, I decided to go to a new spot but forgot the lift the trolling motor. Broke the shaft on my Fortrex and basically missed the spawn and post spawn as my Champion 210 sat in the shop for 5 weeks waiting for trolling motor parts. Lesson learned! Won't be doing that one again and just realize life happens!

Had days like this. Props for keeping the positive attitude. One morning I went to get out. My truck tire was flat had the boat all hooked up ready to go. So I fix the tire, then I’m heading to lake. Stop at a tackle store put gear in boat go to get off boat in lot and fell right on my butt in parking lot. Laugh it off head to the lake someone cuts me off so to not crash had to go up a curb and my trailer axle bent thought it was good enough to make it up the road and tire explodes. Had to call flat bed to tow boat and trailer. They brought my boat home so we ended up going out I. My buddies champion instead and then had a decent day of fishing. Just have to laugh it off.

Catching a bird is one of my greatest fears on the water. We have ospreys and herons here. Ive had both take swipes at top waters. Luckily I’ve never hooked up. As for the keel guard deal... we’ve all been there. I hasn’t put the bounce buster on my trolling motor and hit some rough water. The motor bracket absolutely smashed the butts of a couple rods (megabass Aaron Martens included). Glad to see you had enough daylight left to get it turned around. Great message.

Great video, I feel like this type of day we can all relate too. The last time my boat was on the water we had a battery issue. No trim at all once we made it to the ramp, we moved everything to the deep cycle and luckily had a badass jumpstart box (which we never needed). We could have gone back to the house then like we should have, but we are still young and dumb and on a body of water that we know well...so we went fishing. My two buddies caught PB speckled trout, one got his PB redfish and the other got his first ever alligator gar. We fished through the night, caught our limits for the first time ever, and had a ton of fun. It may have been a bit risky/borderline reckless, but the rewards outweighed the risks. Again, great video guys and much love! Tight lines my friends.
