They hire Toji and this is the first time they get visual confimation that Toji was sucessful and "saved" their religion. For them Gojo is just some random person carrying the body of their arch nemesis ( Amanai ).

Characters explaining their abilities is a very common anime trope because things can get complicated. The way they get away with it in this show is actually brilliant because it makes them stronger. The Panda and Mechamaru stuff explains so much about how heavenly pacts work. It leads straight into the Maki fight where you see a more 'successful' heavenly pact in action. Which means when Toji shows up & Geto(Get-oh) stops his explanation, you dont need it because Mechamaru already explained it

To clarify a couple points; The people clapping are the religious members who wanted Amanai dead so that Tengen would evolve. They are clapping for her dead body, which is why Gojo wants to kill them all. Geto convinces him not to, saying it wouldn't change anything, and because he is trying to convince himself that these people are just misguided and not just deeply evil. When Geto talks about revealing his technique and you guys ask if thats why they monologue in this show, yes. Its been mentioned a few times in the show, first explained by Nanami and later referenced by other characters. One can make a pact with themselves when revealing their technique. This power system is all about pacts, which basically are a give and take system. Giving information about your technique in turn makes it more potent. This can be used, for example, by the death painting brothers in the finale of last season to make their rot technique work faster. On the other hand, this pact can be used as a bluff. Todo explains his technique, but purposefully lies. This does *not* give his technique a boost in power, because it would not be very helpful when his technique thrives on misdirection. Lying allows him to convince his opponent be made this pact, and thus deprive them of key information until it becomes relevant. This is how he tricks Hanami during the fight and makes the most of his otherwise pretty mediocre technique. The reverse cursed energy thing is slightly difficult to explain. Basically, cursed energy is inherently negative energy. It comes from negative emotions and manifests destructive power. Reverse cursed techniques do the opposite, instead healing and producing life. This is a very difficult technique for sorcerers to learn, which us why Gojo has struggled with it. But when he almost died, he made a gamble and focused everything on trying to work it out. He discovered that, in the same way multiplying a negative number against itself creates a positive number, he could multiply his owned cursed energy against itself and it allowed him to heal his otherwise lethal wounds. This gives him a high, not only because he has achieved a new level of sorcery and truly become the strongest sorcerer, but also because he finally understands the fundamental essence of life. Its *ALL* cursed energy, multiplied against itself in varying ways (hence why the animation is full of beautiful life scenery). He has seen the meaning of life, but he has also mastered the fundamental tool of life itself. He is high on power and realisation, it's a euphoric eureka moment.

THIS IS GONNA BE LONG OK just some context and explanations. 13:55 it's also the fact guns are not common in Japan, which is why when you mentioned the gun thing last reaction I was SO excited for this episode. It's one of the few magic system animes were guns are actually effective which I think is fantastic. 14:45 these episodes will make sense by ep 5, and then like further down the season. It's very important. 17:34 this is also one of the few animanga that give you an actual reason as to why the characters explain their powers. Revealing how your technique works, powers it up, because you're basically showing all your cards. 18:24 just fyi this is meant to be, at least I believe it to be so based on my Japanese myths knowledge, "Kuchisake-onna" (Slit-Mouth Woman) is a yokai of urban legends and folk tales. She is a malevolent spirit that presents as a woman who covers her face up and carries a pair of scissors (sometimes a knife as well) and she's often described to be between 6 to 8 ft tall, straight black hair, and generally beautiful except for the scar that goes from ear to ear in the shape of a smile. She asks if you think she's pretty, if you say no, she kills you, if you say yes, she reveals the open wound smile she has, and ask you again, if you say no you're done, and if you say yes, she cuts the corners of your mouth all the way to your ears to mimic her own. 19:32 context because this is very Japanese. "Megumi" means Blessing, and it is both a female and male name, though more often used in women (which is why in s01 in ep 4 I believe Megumi says "and the father who named me Megumi with no regards on my gender" (paraphrased)). Toji said he has issues remembering "guys' names", so he chose a generally femenine name for his son. Also, the first time we hear anyone refer to non-sorcerers as "monkeys" is through Toji. It's not a jic you haven't figured it out, but that Toji remembers in that moment Megumi's name because of its meaning, bcs he says to Geto "you have the *BLESSING* of parentage" (even tho he really doesn't know jack shit about Geto lmao but oh well Toji being Toji). 20:12 just a cult being a cult (which there were a couple of big japanese cults in the... 1990s I believe who did some terror attacks). 20:31 basically Toji was asking his handler to take him somewhere nice to eat, and his handler said no bcs Toji never pays for men (he only pays for women). 23:12 ah damn you cut it out, but the phrase "Among Heaven and Earth, only I am the Honored one." is actually a quote from Buddha. Toji was born without cursed energy, he was born with a heavenly pact granting him physical prowess. Maki was born with cursed energy the likes of a regular human but Toji was born with none, zero. Toji was rejected by his clan, and when he was a child he was thrown into a pit of curses hoping that he'd be killed. He wasn't. He came out of it alive and got the scar on the corner of his lip because of it. He leaves jujutsu society and despices them because of it. 24:38 that's the curse spirit Geto has in the film. 25:35 those are the regular cult members from the Star Vessel Assoc, they have no idea about Jujutsu Society, they're the lower members of the cult, they're just happy Riko is dead. Gojo went to retrieve her body, and these fckers were clapping because they were happy she died. Geto has run through every single Star Vessel HQ until he gets to this one and finds Gojo, who everyone thought died, alive and ascended. A Gojo with no morals. In that moment, Geto is Gojo's moral compass, and had Geto said yes, Gojo would've murdered everyone in that room, and he would've become a Curse User (not a sorcerer by Jujutsu Society's standards, he'd be a criminal). 25:54 correct, should've watched a little longer LMAO I can't keep watching right now because I'm working and the doctor just got back to the patient's room, so I'll finish watching later.

I actually think it's one of its strenghts, because I can really understand and get hyped about the fights and about my fave characters winning them (especially compared to other fighting shows). I know it's complicated, but it honestly makes sense when you understand it (Gojo's power is "just" math), which also makes the manga a better experience imo. It doesn't really get "better" in the future, so I hope you'll still enjoy it.

These episodes reminded me of how you described Gojo as superman in season one, because Toji beating both Gojo and Geto, while technically being "powerless" has a lot of batman versus superman vibes. Which makes it even better that this fight is what prompted Geto's face heel turn. Because he didn't actually care about non-sorcerers, he pitied them. So when a non-sorcerer beat his ass beat into the ground, it shattered his world-view. Which makes me think his whole "wipe out the non-sorcerers" scheme from JJK Zero came from a place of pettiness and ego, even if he convinced himself he was right, and doing it for righteous reasons.

Let me try, even if English isn’t my first language 😂: Toji (Megumi’s dad) worked for the cult who wanted Tengen to ascend, so they wouldn’t give the corpse to Tengen. Since Amanai was already dead, Gojo wouldn’t waste Amanai’s death, because he felt responsible too, so he went back to that cult to bring her to the other party, the one who wanted to give the vessel to Tengen since the beginning: the one Gojo and Geto would have fought if Amanai was still alive so she wouldn’t merge with Tengen.

So to explain gojos powers or the JJK power system There are 2 types of curses energy, positive cursed energy and negative cursed energy. They are opposites Positive energy can heal and regenerate, negative energy increases your destructive power. negative energy is generated by negative emotions positive energy positive emotions. But it is very hard for a sorc to generate positive energy because humans are naturally negative. The reverse curse technique uses negative energy, multiplies it with negative energy to generate positive energy.

Yes i fairly agree, even i know the Dub is less voice quality but for someone that hard to catch the meaning of the meaning that the show want to deliver it's okay to watch the Dub for better reason. i know some anime that have complex hard story telling context will be Hard to understand than other animes like Attack on titan, JJK, Gantz, Evangelion, Berserk is not for everybody and it's alright too, it's just preference taste and for me i loved all of them it fits my taste. I had friend that don't like watch film that make you think too hard and that's why chose to watch anime demon slayer/frieren/dandadan because that easy explained story no need to made you think too much and just watch is enough to understand the show. I loved JJk because it difference to other anime story-telling make me think hard every little detail is important and has meaning, hard to grasp but it's fun if you become 'ooohh that's the reason' is like putting puzzle one per one. On jjk you have to often back on information to look past seasons to do research again and again, as example when later on season 3 4 5 there's a answer to your question that haven't been answered on your watch Season 1, that is JJK.

34:20 Completely agreed. Modern shonen have a big problem of over-explaining their magic systems. The conditions, pacts, etc. are cool, but you can just drop a sentence or two about them and move on. Keep the powers relatively simple instead of dumping huge exposition about each one. JJK and other modern shonen should evolve beyond that.

Sure… I know some of it is blown out of proportion, but I personally really don’t like it when it feels like they’re just watching for views. They clearly don’t pay much attention at all and call the show stupid if they don’t understand something every other reaction channel seems to get. At this point I’d prefer if they just dropped the show and watched something they actually like instead of half assing this one

In this case the comments are accurate, I don't see anyone exaggerating, you don't have to be a fan to see that they don't like the show and accept it, we don't all have to like the same thing, because if you don't like the anime, then why see it? They could be honest and say "we don't like it so we won't continue watching it" and that's it, but their reactions seem to be like "we watch it because it's our job. But you can tell that they don't like the show because until now they have seen more complicated things and with more explanations than JJK and we have been able to see that they genuinely enjoy it, unlike this show. For my part, I will do the same as many, I will not see their reactions to JJK again.

DON'T WORRY, even manga readers don't understand the power systems completely. Gege (the mangaka) doesn't do the best job explaining things, including Reverse Curse Technique. If you want to just accept it as cool powers, it's super valid, whatever helps you enjoy the show more 👍

I don't agree... For example Gojo's powers: multiplying negative cursed energy into positive is just basic math (-1 x -1 = 1). And red and blue is just push and pull... Everything is pretty much well explained even in anime so you just need to keep attention... They just assume it's nonsense and don't even try to understand it...

@kubka4 I guess i mean more in the way Gege explains it. It's very dense exposition. RCT is multiplying negatives, not Gojo's power. It's not explained well that cursed energy is negative energy, and multiplying it by itself creates positive energy, and that's how you heal. If you really want to simplify it, you can just say blue and red is attract/repel, not push and pull, and there's even more depth to how it works than just it simply being that. I love the power system for JJK and understand it well, but I've seen many discussions online about people confused to how it works, so I just want to let them know it's valid that they don't pick up everything. Even the Six Eyes isn't explained well other than Gojo saying he has good eyes. Just watching, you wouldn't put together that he can see people's Curse techniques, CE levels, and optimizes his CE output (I know some of this is explained, I don't think the anime does the best job of it though). Once it gets into domain amplification and stuff like that, it gets even more confusing.
