My favourite EVO moment? Apart from the Smash moments....the announcement of Jubei's release for BlazBlue:CF and BlazBlue Cross tag battle. My dick is diamonds.
@aleblasco397 жыл бұрын
Lovesick I agree with you,the moment I saw Jubei, I was hyped to an extreme end and then bum,new game, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle. Also the BlazBlue finals were dope with a near reverse sweep from Fenrich.
@seth75147 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but I would've loved to have seen some Naoto, Es, Ragna or Izanami (my favourite characters). Oh well, Jin and Carl are hype as well. ArcSys sure do know how to promote their content.....as opposed to Capcom and co. who have shown very little promise in MvC:Infinite.
@aleblasco397 жыл бұрын
Lovesick Yup, ArcSys is new king of fighting games imo and they know how to hype the fans a lot, btw I'm a Noel fan and since I sadly only cacthed since the losers finals, I don't know of someone has played her, I'm also a fan of Taokaka(who doesn't love her), Tsubaki Yayoi/Izayoi and Makoto, sadly I only have Chronophantasma Extend and Continuum Shift Extend for Steam and I wish I had Centralfiction and I hope the gap between the PS4 port and the PC port of Cross Tag Battle isn't very long.
@seth75147 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the gap won't exist for too long. As for character diversity....it's pretty lame. I hope that with the Jubei release ArcSys can possibly buff the characters which need buffing. Noel is hype, I respect that.

My favorite moment we're the BlazBlue finals definitely, that almost near reverse sweep and then a developer from ArkSys appears and announces Jubei(a long awaiting character for the fans of the BlazBlue series) and bum, new game, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, that was dope as fuck
@Energyone7 жыл бұрын
Personally, I found GG to be the most boring part of the tournament. BB was far better, and yeah all the announcements (for all the games) were great except perhaps Abigail. I dunno, I guess I would have to play with him first but the guy looks goofy right?

lol wut!? nage double perfecting machaboo and tomo kicking out Ogawa, sending eliminating two former champions before they get into top 8 was a huge upset. My only gripe is that top 8 itself had a lot of matches that were one-sided.

That's the point - the video is always limited to the top 8 every year, and that's exactly why GG was probably the most boring of all of them - we are in agreement.

Energyone well made. I had an issue with last years video botched smashes interpretation mispronouncing names like calling saying "Alley" instead of "Ally" and "Hungry" instead of "Hungrybox" full tag. TOKIDO TOKIDO!! SFV grand finals were dope
@Energyone7 жыл бұрын
I am happy for Tokido but I kind of understand Punk - he had the weight of the world on him.
@Fate8627 жыл бұрын
Punk had the weight of the USA on him and Tokido had the weight of the world on him and of course Japan. Punk is a new kid to this while Tokido had been working 15 years since Evo began to rightfully claim his spot as the best. There was more pressure on Tokido to win as he was so close and had to beat three great players in the world to win Evo and he did it. Punk has been getting by fairly well and t-bagging and laid back, but when you run into someone hard to beat then you know you don't disrepect him. I hope Punk learned some humility, respect, and a lesson for being such a disrespectful kid just like Smug and Du need to learn. The weight of Punk and the weight of Tokido is no comparison, Tokido had much much more to fight for and prove.
@El_Xerus7 жыл бұрын
Fate862 You are damn right, i think this lose Will help Punk in the long run.
@Energyone7 жыл бұрын
Tokido is far more experienced and made top ranks in many tournaments - he was cool as a cucumber in comparison to Punk. He didn't have the weight of the world on him - Japan has won all the time, whereas the USA hasn't - everyone pinned their hopes on him to finally win. Not taking anything away from Tokido but you could tell Punk's pressure was insane by comparison. Just watch the match and the reactions.
@El_Xerus7 жыл бұрын
They both had a lot of pressure on them, Tokido is been chasing the EVO title for so long, i hope Punk learns from this, to mature and have more respect for his opponents.

last year, melee grand finals completely eclipsed everything else in terms of hype. I'm not a huge fan of smash 4 taking the main stage over melee in general, but in retrospect, this was a great decision. melee gf was fairly standard, mango wasn't good enough to challenge armada, no surprises. smash 4 grand finals was for smash 4 what the armada-hbox GF of evo 2017 was for melee. A huge comeback, clutch moments. the commentary isn't to my liking, and I think that the melee gf the year previous had a far more compelling narrative behind it (rivalry) but smash 4 had a super legit evo this year. most of all, I'm just happy to see that a smash game still has a place on the main stage, and that smash as a whole can still defy the taunts from the FGC with pure viewership, hype and player skill.
@colinporato49727 жыл бұрын
god tier username but Mango beat armada earlier this year. And the mango vs armada rivalry is way more historic than armada vs hbox. (I agree that melee gf was kinda lame though)
@nice13657 жыл бұрын
Corn Eilious Honestly those 2 hbox-armada sets are probably the best sets between armada and hbox ever. mango and armada is such a sick matchup usually, but this was armada on genesis 4 form, where it looks unfair going against, and mango clearly wasn't at his peak the melee gf were hypeless because armada had 3-0d mango in winners finals. everyone expected armada to body mango, which is what happened. royal flush (where mango beat armada) was hype, but it was so clear that at evo 2017: 1) armada was playing to near perfection, wheras he made some basic errors at royal flush 2) mango was so much weaker at evo. he was playing SO well in those royal flush sets. (even then both of them went to game 5)
@Energyone7 жыл бұрын
SFV still beat all others in viewership, which is kind of sad since Capcom hasn't been making the FGC happy recently. :/

Al you guys are here for Smash and SF but if you saw it you already know the KOF XIV grand finals was the craziest. Daimon has been a bad character in every KOF game. As bad as Q in 3rd Strike - Basically like Zelda or Game & Watch in Smash games. A perpetual low tier winning a super major. It's never happened before in KOF - let alone any fighting game I'm sure. Speaks volumes about KOFs balancing.
@Energyone7 жыл бұрын

@Energyone7 жыл бұрын
Yeah I said it earlier that if a Switch version comes out, maybe Melee can finally be retired - it's the same guys with the same characters year after year - nothing new or interesting ever happens really. i don't agree with this at all. the melee community is still growing and the argument of "it's the same characters" is crap. you can watch every game and see the same characters every time but the style of each player is what makes it interesting to watch. one fox won't be like the next and same goes for everyone else

@Energyone7 жыл бұрын
Depending on where you are from, it could sound more like 'shi' instead of a 'z'
