I remember being so surly at the Jacksonville game in a way I just hadn't been ever mad at the Jacksonville team or its fanbase. It was bad enough we were watching Seattle just get beat up in a rare way for the Pete Carroll era, but then for a guy like Jefferson to get stuff thrown at him repeatedly was like wow, fuck the people in that specific corner of the stadium that day. I was disappointed in our team for fighting back but being unable to win it, then getting nasty needlessly with Michael Bennett and Sheldon Richardson. Bennett was trying to be Walter Payton Man of the Year at that time and it was needless things like that that overshadowed all the good he was doing when he rolled around with Linder. Just totally embarrassing. Richardson had been a total waste of a pickup in my book, a player that kept getting work before and after the trade for him because he would put together good film when he felt like it. He was not an upgrade to a line that needed one to maintain prominence and moments like that only contributed to the appreciation of the door being quietly shut behind him as he left Seattle. Pete Carroll getting penalized for coming out on the field to try to get his team to just get it together so they could go home instead of needlessly prolonging the loss. I remember even though they were 8-4, that was a microcosm of the struggles that Seattle team had in keeping it together at the end point of the LOB's era. In a way when you looked at guys like Fournette and Cam Robinsons reactions, it was a similar deal. Both teams on the edge.
