"The man's honesty is getting him into trouble". He might be autistic, I am myself and especially in stressful situations autistics can't lie, we don't have the mental capacity for it then. Traveling is highly stressful and I avoid it; neurodivergent people are the perfect victims to look guilty when they aren't, because we use 100 % of our energy to not have a meltdown in the unfamiliar situation, which makes our outward appearance look suspicious or strange.

I almost always travel with empty suitcases. I'm always going to return with more stuff. I don't see how it's suspicious at all

I know what you mean, but in the past few years I having taken to travelling with no empty bags and just buying a new one at my destination to bring back loaded with new stuff. I was tired of being suspected of something dodgy just because I had an empty suitcase.

To European Union you may bring fruit but no seeds. No meat products... no dairy products from outisde the EU. As the UK is no longer in the EU different rules might apply but as seen it was possible. Afaik fish is allowed to a maximum amount.

😮 My question is; how does this adult male who doesn't understand or speak English properly become a British citizen? My father was fully British, fought for 5 years in WWII, went to boarding school in Sussex but was born in Paris France of British parents. He could travel on his British passport bu all his children were not eligible for a British passport. Why? We were all born in Rhodesia now called Zimbabwe. Smells like political prejudice, double standards and racism to me.

You must have been incredibly unlucky - I've travelled to the UK many times - always found them incredibly polite - not so much in USA or Australia.
