@@pistolsniper6281 No, it wasn't stupid. He knew he was outnumbered, but he also knew that he could take them on and survive. Which he did survive in the event, which proves that he was right in his judgment. His attempted assassination was also actually successful at what it needed to achieve. It got Storminghell separated into a small detachment with zombta so that zombta could finish the job. Keep in mind that in the actual event, zombta and davarit were plotting together. It wasn't a revenge kill because davarit didn't die. The attempt would only be stupid if davarit was overestimating his own ability and was actually severely outmatched. But he wasn't. He knew he was one of the best PvPers on the server, and he knew he could fight off the Sultan's bodyguards on his own. Now, you could say it was still risky, because he could have died and it was dangerous, but I don't think you can call it stupid, especially since he escaped with his life.

@@malcolmreynolds4099 Sort of. In August of 2022, Ish held the civilization event. There were applications, and about 1200 people were accepted. Then for 10 days (technically there were a few more, but they didn't really count), he would open up the server for 2-4 hours, and people could play, build civilizations, do diplomacy, etc. The event was almost completely player led, but there were some rules. For instance, rdm (random killing) wasn't allowed, so people couldn't just go around killing for fun. There had to be a valid roleplay reason to kill someone. And in general, the event was focused on roleplay, and most of the nations in the video were pre-organized in the discord before the event started. But once the event started, it was essentially all player-led, and was just a matter of how all the different people and nations played off each other. But since the event was 10 days, and multiple hours each day, plus having about 1000 different people and perspectives, Ish obviously had to simplify and rework some things in his retelling in order to make it as engaging and palatable to a general audience as possible. I kind of see this video as an adaptation. Just like how you need to change things when you adapt a book into a movie in order for it to work in the new medium, Ish needed to changes some things to make the video work in his format. So yeah, in some ways it is a recreation. For instance, he got players to re-enact/act out some scenes in slightly different ways to make it more cinematic. He also had people voice act a bit and deliver lines that weren't actually said in the event. But he also uses footage from the event (generally when you see chat, that's real footage).

The video is a mix of true and false. Some scenes actually happened, some scenes happened and were dramatized/recreated, and others were false and added in for the sake of storytelling. Generally most people who sign up for this agree to this. Ish even states this in the video description. Personally, I think it's better this way, as it makes for a more interesting and engaging video. For example, Elanuelo's bunker isn't real; he was actually unable to participate for the first few sessions, and all of those meetings were held in Discord calls. But since that would be out of place for the video, Ish revised it so Elanuelo was just an incredibly paranoid emperor in the making hiding in the bunker. That's even his entire character: the paranoid emperor. Ish himself held a livestream (I think on his second channel) where he discusses the video, what's real and what isn't. But in the end, this experiment turned into a damn masterpiece of a story.

What Ish does better than any other civilisation content is taking breaks to go over what the smaller events on the server. Most other videos just focus on the action without much respite, and it makes it hard to follow along or appreciate tense moments. Professional pacing right here.

What I love about this Video is about not just a 100 or 1000 player gimmick event, it shows proper character development, and a rise-to-fame person who became a matyr when he died (AfreakingTurkey was the Matyr)

It's cool how the geography played such a big part in this experiment. The jungle was more chaotic because they had trouble communicating and would just want to stay in small areas and form their own groups, the Snow and Desert islands were attracted to strong leaders because they had a hard time surviving, and the Plains island was more democratic because they had all the resources they needed and more time to be competent.
