I absolutely love international foods over American (I'm American) I feel like there are more fun options for people with gluten allergies as there are a lot more flourless fun desserts --one type being almond based desserts. I actually bake with almond flour and coconut flour myself. Love the chocolate marzipan truffles you are referring to. They have a liquor taste, with almond coated in chocolate for anyone wondering. Very rich. Very dense. Like one of them is more than enough for me and I have a huge sweet tooth. Also marzipan comes in so many fun shapes. We have Santas, Angels and Reindeer at my local cafe that sells a lot of international foods. My fav. food though is Scottish/Irish fruit cake. It's gluten free, at least most brands I've seen, as it's mainly a potato starch base, and has actual delicious alcohol infused candied fruits. None of that BRIGHT COLORED candy stuff you will find at a Walmart or Wegmans in the US. Soooooooooooooo moist. So rich. I keep looking out for gluten free plum figgy puddings, and other UK desserts because they look so good as well.
