Sounds like some situations worthy of an 'edge of the seat' movie! I was exhausted listening to the stories but then I've just done a 10 hour work day. Concerned about how long my visa will take in January as I'll have nowhere to stay so it's going to cost me a small fortune staying in the South of England (so I can see my UK grandson) or London and twiddling my thumbs for up to 3 months 😢

Thanks for the comment, based on the last two years experience visas in winter generally are issued a lot quicker so fingers crossed you won't have to long to wait

Food for thought Chris, for those - like me - who have nowhere to return to when awaiting their visa. My colleague asked if I’d thought about being a workaway in the U.K. I’d not, even though my son in Spain uses them. I’ve found a place 40 mins from London and an hour from my grandson in the U.K. where I can stay for a couple of months or more and, being a workaway, will have things to occupy my time during some long lonely weeks. Cheaper than a hotel or Air B&B.

Hi Chris Really enjoyed our first chat with you today and looking forward to getting things going. Think I’m now hooked to your weekly updates too! Really interesting to hear of a pet chauffeur as I forgot to mention that we will be bringing our African Grey parrot, George. It seems like he needs more paperwork than we do for the NLV! We’d be really interested in talking to anyone that has done this recently since last years law change and particularly in the pet chauffeur to see if this may be an option for us. @@Schrody100 Reason for sailing is we have a cat, if we dont get visas and we have to cancel ferry, they dont have another pet cabin available until after October so we may have to go to Dover/Folkestone then drive across France and into Spain, which I dont want to do🇪🇸😳

Great content, thanks! I watch all your videos and wonder if you and “you too” could do one on the troubles people have getting a rental property when they arrive. Questions would be: what length of lease do you need for the NLV? how easy or difficult to get a lease in various areas? Does one company do it all or do we need to trail around every company? What are the scams/pitfalls? Crucially, How much time do you have to get a lease before your time runs out? What happens if you can’t find a place when it is high season? What happens if you have a nasty neighbour or a barking dog next door, can you change address? What are the dos and dont’s This would be for a Brit with an NLV and coming in mid August with visa running out early September. Thanks for all your help. I tried to use you guys but there were no phone call dates for more than a month which was off putting and I am sure you must lose a lot of business that way. Must be hard to take calls all day but maybe we’ll worth paying someone to field them and put through the definites.

Hi Chris, question about buying a car when arriving in Spain. How long should it take? I know i need a padron, is UK licence ok to start with for insurance etc? Can i just drive out a dealership with a new vehicle? Im weighing up a rental car instead of driving my UK car all the way to spain to start with. Cheers Craig PS would need to be 3XL Tee for my belly😂

I'm looking at where and when to buy a car. Am moving over in October before returning for my visa in January so won't be on the padron. However, I do have a house in Spain (and therefore NIE) so hoping that's ok. I don't want to hire a car for 3 months!

Buying a car can be relatively quick, using your UK licence for insurance is fine to start with but you must register the exchange before 6 months 😊
