I love nice things...but not at the price of a car. I bought my modest but very lovely home in 1986...and there are some handbags that are more than the initial cost of my home...and that's flat ridiculous. I'm not about to expend that kind of money for a handbag. That just makes ZERO financial sense, and I have to say "ENOUGH"!!! There ARE alternatives, vintage being one. Saying "No thank you" to keeping up with the Jones...or Vanderbilts or whomever...is another. It might be the proverbial "rat race"...but I don't have to lower myself to "rat status" just to own a "status" handbag. I'm sooooo very glad you are covering this topic, Evelyn. I hope that when enough people start refusing to purchase at extravagant prices, the message will get across.

Wow I didn’t realise the price has increased 10 times in 20 years it’s crazy! I just bought a woc partially with vouchers in Brown Thomas for less than the lower price you mentioned I feel like I got such a steal!

Whats sad is that i have bought fake bags to replace my real ones and they are better quality than the real ones..a 1k fake is literally better quality and higher craftsmanship than an authentic, this shouldnt be happening
