Crazy Charlie Bonefish Fly

The crazy Charlie is a classic pattern that has seemly been around forever. The crazy Charlie is known to catch bonefish anywhere and even know the patter has been around a long time it is still very effective. The original pattern calls for calf tail but in my variation I use fox tail hair for the wing for more movement and a quicker sink rate.

Materials
Hook - Ahrex SA 220 #4-8
Body - Vinyl rib, Saltwater Flashabou
Thread - Danville 140 D
Eyes - Beadchain ( Make heavier if needed)
Wing - Fox tail
UV Resin - Loon Flow, Deercreek fine

Nice , I like the color combination and the D rib makes the fly pop .I have been tying all day getting ready for Mexico tied some Crazy Charlie’s with a polar bear wing can’t wait to see how that works . But most of them I tie with Arctic fox its such a versatile material . Thanks for sharing.

I love tying with fox. It always gives off great movement and a shrimpy vibe. I have never tied with polar bear but i hear its great stuff if you can get your hands on it

@@cwflies yeh I had never tied with polar bear until this spring my friends a tier also he gave me some for tying up some steelhead flies . It doesn’t have the movement of fox or Finn Raccoon but has some unique UV properties . Fox just swims so good .
