Challenge: 2 teams with 2 People, one flies a drone the other one a plane. You have to fly around a course but the only thing both guys see is the fpv from the drone. So you have to fly through the course with 3rd person view. I think this could be a fun challenge!

I recommend adding a vertical stabilizer in the large circular wing and a horizontal stabilizer in the secondary smaller circle tail. Move the motors forward in the center of the large circle wing and only add one larger motor while adding servo motors to the stabilizer for better controlled flight. Differential thrust is not always the best option for light weight airplanes because it defeats the stabilizers causing a stall. Putting the motors on the bottom of the circle will cause it to flip which is what we saw because the angle of attack is in the center of the circular wing. You added the motors where the angle of attack would of been linear with the body of the airplane which is typically the same for the wings, which in this case, it isn’t. Thrust needs to be proportional with the wing. This is why adding a motor too high or too low from the horizontal center point of the wing will cause it to flip because the motor is essentially pulling the plane in the opposite direction where you’d wouldn’t want it to go. Long time fan of you guys all the way back from 2012. Love you guys and can’t wait to visit FliteFest sometime in the future... I’m very proud of all of you guys of how you grew FliteTest from Chad’s original idea into this wonderful company that values people and flying. Very excited to meet all of you someday. Because of FliteTest, I got both my amateur radio license and my Part 107 license to hopefully build a career around flight.

that was actually legit cool. the most frustrating part of engineering is when the thing ur designing just wont work. but its also the best part. its the part where you learn what NOT to do. and thats how you get better. yall build some amazing things but this is a great reminder that when you try something new it doesnt always work out, and thats a good thing. keep on flying yall

I love all your content. The planes you build, the everyday items you make fly is all some of the craziest and greatest stuff I have seen. I will admit I am a warbird addict and just so thoroughly enjoy when you do military planes. One I have yet to see, and I personally love, is my favorite bomber, the B-1B Lancer. You have made multiple WWII bombers and the B-52, but I think the B-1 would be absolutely epic. The ability to vary the wing sweep would be epic, and I know you could pull it off, but it is not entirely necessary. Love your videos and keep up the great work.

Josh, I have been tinkering on the idea of sending you THIS idea for a while. To wish you were to build a straight, two circular hole flying device. A Crazy Circular Yard Stick Plane, as you put it. I was originally inspired by seeing one in a flight contest held in a gymnasium. Where? I am not sure, but maybe the the 100 paper airplane book. It won the distance prize. What I am surprised is that there is already work done on this concept before, proportions, like the length of the shaft, the width of the circle's band, the diameter of the each circle in proportion to each other, if tested further can achieve far better results. Maybe you were not aware of all that. Don't give up. You inspire a lot of people by what you do and what you show in the process. I wish you all the best, Andre
