Zack Spencer Lol, same here. When I saw him almost neck deep, it reminded me of a time last year when I was salt water fishing off of a big dock, and one of my favorite crank baits got caught on the dock pillar. I jumped in the water to retrieve it. I’ve done the same with squid jigs lol. Too expensive to just leave behind.

My lure saving technique is to break off a a long stick with a forked tip and follow the line down to the snag and after a few pokes it usually comes free. My river holds smallies and pike, a walleye would be the bonus fish.

Feed sack is the almost worst case scenario for getting hung up, but if you let lots of line out, the drag of the current on the line will let you pull from a direction almost 180 degrees from your location. It often does the trick. If you're hung up vertically, a heavy sinker on a snap swivel can be attached to the line and sent down to tug the line in the opposite direction. In this case, maintain just a little pressure on the line and try to ease the pressure off as the sinker reaches your lure. It takes a little practice, but this technique works well also.

If you walk in with your rod trying to get out a snag you can reel your rod tip right up to the lure and essentially poke the lure right off whatever its stuck on instead of reaching down in the water and grabbing things and pulling them to shore.
@FishHawk4 жыл бұрын
it was a feed sack. Hooks don't come out of feed sacks lol

Just an all around great fishing experience. I loved the shallow to deep moving water and all the fish were so healthy looking. I have never been in a walleye catching environment, but heard they were one of if not the tastiest fresh water fish you could fry up. Great video! Love to see guys using a realistic line test. My primary place in GA for over 10 years was a 5 acre farm pond and even my 'ultralight' ran 10 lb spider wire and the baitcasters and spinning reels had 12 - 15 lb loaded up - because that pond had lots of 6 to 12 lbs largemouths in it. We'd try to keep them thinned out but we'd get 6 to 8 oth the 6lb+ girls every summer. I also took about a half limit of snapping turtles every year as well (average size was 20 - 25 lbs - mostly in home built traps on turkey wings). The two to 4 lb test I see other guys use would have been snapped so fast. Caught one 5 lb bass while going after blue gills one morning. Hit it like a freight train. Keep up the great videos. Small streams were always my first love. Grew up with Cajun in Gulf Coast East Texas. I'll bet every one of the chunky smallies was packed full of eggs for a fall spawn.
