Fishing Below GIANT Spillway - LOADED with Fish!!!

I went fishing below a GIANT spillway! This was a new spot that I had never been to before. I found it on Google maps and had to check it out. This spillway was loaded with fish! I caught fish using a ton of different lures and baits. I will definitely be back to do some more spillway fishing!

Try a jig fuzzy rootbeer color with live minnows. If there's perch there could be 6-7 lb walleyes or come back in evening.

This is for anyone who sees this is is just a secret of mine use hypodermic needle (that is if you can find a clean one) and put the air in half the worm it makes it float and fish love it that way especially perch and trout

If you've never eaten yellow perch, I seriously recommend trying it. Pan fried or deep fried, either way it is light and flaky and seriously good eating.

Yellow perch sanctuary is what you came across 😀Here in the part of Georgia I'm in,about forty miles North of Macon is the Okmulgee river,not as clear as your location, but a white bodied rooster tail with red on it does very nice! Great fishing trip as always!

I’m new to the channel becuase I was looking for a channel with a good bit of trout fishing and came across here and absolutely love it, especially this video becuase I go to this spill way and both lakes (lake koon which is the upper lake, and lake Gordon which is the lower lake) at least once a week and love catching the perch and nice catfish here too. Also they do stock the upper lake with trout!!!😁

I didn't know you had Yellow Perch in the States (we just call them Perch in the UK). Can't eat most of our freshwater fish though apart from Trout, have to put the rest back. Watch those spines on the Dorsal fin!

In the UK we just call them perch - we don't have any other colours. You can eat them but they taste a bit muddy. A decent one is about 1LB. Record is approx. 5LB

Caught in those clean Waters and Waters cool does perch like cold water. And you catch a mess of them like that fishing a bigger one so good eating. One of the best freshwater fish or whatever have. Stream and came up word with it I'll bet you they were Smallmouth in there.

There's a lake nearby that has lots of yellow perch... its a great place to take the kids fishing because the perch are super agressive will hit just about anything that will fit in their mouth- we often use 1/8 Oz online spinners and the perch try to inhale them to the point where we end up gut hooking them

If you're near Leland, Michigan about Labor Day weekend, go about 3/4 to 1 mile out from the harbor. The jumbo perch usually start running around then! Good fun and even better eating! That's why they call Leland "Fishtown"!! Cheers, from another Michigander!

We catch lots of perch in Europe they are a beautiful fish but are very frail and unless they are lip hooked you will find they almost certainly perish if they are deep hooked. I admire the fact that you enjoy your fishing and show delight when catching. The only thing I found hard to understand was that at the end you mentioned catch and cook!! WHY would you even contemplate killing a stunning fish that grow very slowly and yet on the hardest of fishing days you can rely on this lovely fish to fill your heart with joy. I would love to hear your thoughts please if you would. You seem a caring Angler with the way you said each time....go on little fellow and handled them very caringly. In Ontario Canada perch are caught commercially by fishing vessels in Lake Erie lake Huron they sell for 17.99 per lb . They are as good a halibut or cod for eating and are regulated as for catches both commercially and sports fishing so the fishery is not depleted . So I don’t see the issue if some are eaten as compared to buying cod and chips at a restaurant

One of my favorite fish to eat, you should keep some and have a few fantastic meal's. I live in Wisconsin right by the Mississippi and the spring perch run is something I just don't miss out on. We typically catch 11 to 13in perch with plenty of em 14in and some even get to 15, and every once in awhile you get the elusive 16in.
