I started craving after ure blog, I cooked the meal for breakfast, bought crispy fried tuyo. you are braved you had the whole fish floating in ure champurado! On mine I cut the head, took out the guts & scaled it. It’s better... Great blog! I like your goals fir 2021. Stay safe & healthy....

Hi Mike just a trivia, “TUYO” is the filipino word for “DRY / DRIED”. Batangas also known for their chocolate, ‘TSOKOLATE EH’ the thick and rich, while ‘TSOKOLATE AH’ is watered and thin.

Hi Mike & Nelly I like to watch your video and this is the first time I will comment because I love to watch you eating our traditional champorado with tuyo specially Nelly. We have been living in Toronto, Canada since 1981 and we never forget eating champorado with tuyo in the morning on a regular basis as a matter of fact my wife is still eating it every Sunday and it becomes ritual for her. I am glad that you like our native foods and I appreciate you somewhat promoting to other foreigners who are watching your vlog and will someday soon visit our country.

Champorado originated in Spain but was enhanced by filipino to add dried fish to it. Extremely opposite sweet and tuyo or dried dilis (anchovies) but blends well. I love it very much x from Marie of UK

Filipino food is so under rated I think because its not well presented like other international dish but the taste is so diverse. Its not boring so many flavors that is not found in other dish. Philippines was colonized by different nation before that influence the food. Its a fusion that was made hundreds and maybe thousand of years ago. ( Chinese, Spanish, Indian, American, Japanese cuisine)
@Ooberwulf3 жыл бұрын
It isn't just the contrast between sweet and salty in the champorado but also the contrast in texture when you take a bite of the oily, flaky tuyo mixed with thickness of the porridge. 😎

I love champorado. But to eat with tuyo, I think I trued it once. It's just fine but I did not try it again, I love tuyo with garlic fried rice, then dip tuyo with spicy vinegar. Oh that's so good. And with coffee as well. I love champorado as it is as long as it is warm not too hot. And sometimes with milk but I will not mix the milk I just pour it then eat champorado together with the milk.
