Right?! People always think we are spraying when we come out west and talk about the surf back east. It’s just inconsistent. When it’s good, it’s really good, just doesn’t last but several days if even that long and very tide dependent. Beachbreaks close out over 3-4’ Hawaiian, gotta find points and offshore shoals once it’s overhead. There are still untapped islands off the coast all it would take is a crew in a boat to go score at. Like the islands off of Maryland and Virginia border.
@robertchiarizia94632 жыл бұрын
@@GarlandGay7 so hard to paddle out. No channels, just rips to get sucked out at to get to the lineup. Seen Nathan Florence make it look easy getting out in our beach break hurricane swells. So shows we all have room to improve in the paddle out.

I was fortunate enough to be in the area for Fiona this brings back so many good memories. The quality of your videos are getting exponentially sicker & slicker with each release thanks for putting the time in chasing & catching waves getting footage editing and producing content thousands of us look forward to watch.

Appreciate it! Takes me 2 weeks to edit one this long… and this week took 4 late nights to finish it by Friday but I love to tell the story and showcase it the best I can. Means a lot when people notice and appreciate the effort that goes into them. Thanks!

Born /raised SC. Family has beachfront "sand front ha" in Topsail. Life Guarded in Myrtle Beach mid 80s. When not surfing/BBing I was diving the wrecks, paid deckhand. The opening waves 4 minute on and that 8:10 which imo is one of the best OBX wave I have ever seen in 40 years and I would say a once in 20+ year swell.

Damn! I don’t think I’ve shared this but I surfed Outer Banks last year and you your family arrived at the break and I walked up just to say hello. You and your wife couldn’t have been more engaging and friendly. I’ve been following you at least 10 years it was pretty rad to meet you and your family and be in the line up watching Surf was something else. 🙌🏼🤘🏼

I've heard you say more than once that you can spend hours in the water with only a few caught waves. Not because you can't, but because you know better. Usually I just can't catch more than a few or get pummeled trying to go for it when I probably shouldn't. Thanks for the good advice on patience and take care. ps The face size on Masons wave was legit! Nice job.

@@brettbarley Ever actually seen the amount of plastic that washes up there? Or read water studies of the amount of PCBs in Boston harbor or New Bedford? Many coastal towns in New england and RI and NY still have stormdrains that empty into the ocean... Shudder.
