In Russian high schools it's an obvious test - 12 minutes running, it's ok if you make more then 8 laps. didn't know it's like something special =)

Nice! What would make this even better is if you'd have a restart, seconds after each elimination. Now, a tactic is just to get a gap, and for the leaders, it feels like mostly a normal race. If you'd force a restart after each elimination, there's no incentive to get a real gap anymore, and it starts to become all about strategy: conserving as much energy as possible, while not letting yourself be surprised/locked in.

I just realized how fast they were going. It might not look like it because of the camera angles, but I used to run sprints (50m, 100m 200m, 400m) and my PR for the 400m was like 57.4 seconds. They (at least at the beginning) were averaging about 1 min 20 seconds. When i first started running my sprint for the 400m was around 1.20. They were sprinting a lot of this.

Pro tip: never play mixed water polo. Partly because my brother used to play, and he said the girls scared him. Partly because I was friends with the captain of a competitive girls water polo team (U18 I think), and she said there were times when she'd get out of the pool and be amazed that the opposing players would even talk to her...
