I know it's a fake story. But how useless restraining orders are is real. How many stories have we seen or heard where someone with a restraining order against them stalks, hurts, or kills the person that got the restraining order against them. And when someone breaks a restraining order, they get like a month in jail max. If not way less. Also, restraining orders work both ways so op in this story if it were true would be in trouble for breaking her own restraining order. Not that anything would actually happen to her because aging restraining orders are useless.
@Dio.ConfessionTales11 күн бұрын
I think you’re making an important point about how restraining orders often fail to protect people. They’re supposed to act as a legal barrier, but when there’s no real consequence for violating them, what’s the point? That said, I still believe they can be useful, but the laws need to be stricter, with more accountability for those who break them.

Almost 30 minutes story, with that little of event. Damn. Nothing happened in this story.
@Adarkane325xi18 күн бұрын
The OP hadn’t seen Karen since the day she left Tom, but she had to get a restraining order against her? Fake. You need reasons to get a restraining order.
@jlabouchlik-glichlabouk18 күн бұрын
Ig she meant since the divorce
@Chonts14 күн бұрын
She got the restraining order against them both right after the divorce because they wouldn't stop harassing her. I think you missed that part. It's fake, yes, but your reasoning for saying it's fake is kinda wrong
@esm82ify14 күн бұрын
@Chonts No, I caught that too. The OP DID say she got the RO when her MIL showed up at her friend's house in thay context but then when she said Karen showed up at her wedding uninvited, she said she hadn't seen her since she left Tom...AFTER SAYING SHE USED TO STALK HER which was the reason for the RO. The way the story is being told is inconsistent so it's confusing

Why would a distant relative tell your ex mother-in-law that you’re getting married to someone else and no you’re not the jackass for reporting her and having her arrested even if she is mentally unstable you divorced her son two years three years ago. You’ve moved on you’re allowed to do that you’re supposed to do that. She’s stalking you at this point.

"if karen is mentally unwell" then she should be in jail. I don't care for your relatives opunion. She's a danger to you, she's a danger to her son, and frankly, she's a danger to herself. She shouldn't walk free for the rest of her miserable sick life. mentally unwell people that aren't actively harming/threatening others are a different story. She is NOT in that category

Local suburban newspapers do it, but because of the anonymity these stories have these arbitrary details would feel random and out of place even if real.
@inferiorinferno88598 күн бұрын
@@Izzytheaesthetic Yeah but in places like that, communities are often closer then families from the big city and a relative would know you'd be getting married through the grapevine.

It's plain and simple ... OP doesn't owe Karen and her man-child A SINGLE D**N THING!!! As for all those people who thought she could have handled things better...were they there? Did they go through what she did? It's all very well being armchair quarterbacks, but IMO they should stay in their own lanes and keep their mouths shut unless they've been through what she's been through. There was a legal restraining order and Karen violated it; if she forgot all about it, that's HER problem and no skin off OP's nose.
@taylordaenzer485218 күн бұрын
It's not your fault it's your crazy ex's mother in law's fault because she demanded her to give her an explanation for his son who tormented her for years and that's not right and she should pay for her actions and go to hell for what she has done to her and if you guys can't see that then you guys are delusional and she doesn't deserve anything for demanding her to give her an explanation for her son who tormented her for years and you don't have to apologize for anything it's your crazy ex's mother in law's fault because she and her son was the one who started it.

This is a genuine question because I see you in the comments all the time, but do you like, not use punctuation on purpose? Because it feels like your paragraphs get larger each video, and it hurts to read. You also always start with "it's not your fault it's _____ fault." You do know that OP is very likely not going to see this, right?

Four minutes in and how can she block his number when the night before leaving her phone was thrown against the wall breaking it which would make blocking his number a moot point. And when she got a new phone usually people get a different number so how would he know her new number.
@cristinamifa699217 күн бұрын
He threw her phone at the wall, the phone might have shattered. But she might have been able to retrieve the sim card and use it in her new phone. In my country, if you lose/damage your sim card, you can get a new sim card with the same phone number too. So she might have done that if her sim got damaged.

Sounds like Tom is mentally unwell. My question is, do such people not deserve the love of a romantic partner? Doesn't every well meaning person deserve love regardles of their mental or physical challenges? I mean, OP must have seen plenty good qualities in him to get to the point of marriage to him. I understand taking a brief break, but out right leaving him strikes me as cruel.
@HeoBaby2418 күн бұрын
it would be one thing if it was that, but dude doesn't sound he's mentally, he sounds like he's been babyed his whole life. op tried to make it work, but couldn't, there's no reason for her to stay in a unhealthy,and unloving marriage, especially when his mom was apart of said reason. yes people do deserve love regardless of mental or physical challenges, doesn't excuse the fact you're a shitty person who is hard to love and it doesn't make op cruel for leaving his sorry ass especially when he does nothing in the house,yells at her, accuse her of cheating constantly, and let's not forget he threw her phone against the wall.

Seeing the good in someone showing violent tendencies among mental instability is how a lot of people wind up dead at the hand of their S/O. Mental illness is not the individuals fault but it is their responsibility and they’re not entitled to have someone else endure it while they get that figured out.
