Growing up, the Mets was my NL team as the Brewers were still AL and they were always the "other" game on tv. Was at the last game at Shea as well...miss that stadium! May be too late if you have left NYC but three great historical baseball venues there include 1) Elysian Fields (Hoboken) just across the river in New Jersey... there is a plaque where it is believed to be the "birthplace" of baseball, 1846 (Myth). 2) The Polo Grounds home plate plaque across the Harlem River from Yankee Stadium. 3) Ebbets Field in Flatbush (Brooklyn) home of the Brooklyn Dodgers.

Jay was it tough to get to Citi Field, I am a small Canadian town guy and heading to New York in 2 weeks, our family and our friends are going to Yankee Stadium to watch our Blue Jays and Citi Field to watch the Mets since we will be in NY, the whole subway system is a bit stressful to me.

I moved to Tampa from NYC the 2 things I miss the most are some of the food and going to Citi Field whenever I wanted! I really wish the Rays have a newer stadium,m with good food like Citi they would attract a lot more fans. I went to Shea Stadium to see the Mets play the Marlins when I lived in NY. My uncle took my brother and I. It was the first year the Marlins played in the MLB.

Nice to meet you and Adam at the ballpark yesterday. I was the one who mentioned to head out to see second base at Shea. A few more Beatles points of interest to visit while in NYC is the Ed Sullivan Theater located on Broadway and 53rd Street. That is where The Beatles performed on the Ed Sullivan Show. The Plaza Hotel on 5th and 59th is where The Beatles stayed while in New York. And if you are flying out of JFK Airport, that is where they arrived to the US for the first time. The exact location of their arrival is the current terminal 4 right around where the control tower is.
