You don't have to play with them and probably won't see them in the wild just like we never saw any walking dead Aliens and the OG Ghostbusters that was steam punk would work. Slimer is just a ghost/spirit which fits mtg perfectly. Would you be happy with dragons, wizards, vampires, and knights etc for all time?

Yeah that was a pretty big oversight, it wasn't even intentional as I like winston, hes got some great lines. "if there's a steady paycheck in it, I'll believe anything you say" is one of my favorites.

Too bad they went with the name Slimer, and didn’t call it by its original name before its redux: Onionhead. Fun fact: it was conceptualized after John Belushi’s death to essentially be Belushi in the movie. Hence why he guzzles the bottle of booze the way Bluto did a bottle of Jack Daniel’s in Animal House, and why he inhales food the way he does.

The source was literally a voice actor for the show, and I too thought it was hilarious that they just announced its going ahead today(but they are scrapping all the work that was already done for the first one and starting from scratch so its probably going to take them years to finish) I doubt that the project will ever get completed, they will probably cancel it again.

Game is far from dead, it's had some it's best selling sets in the games history in the last couple of years. Creatively bankrupt? I would agree. But Hasbro simply isn't interested in you and I as longstanding customers anymore. This over the next few years will start to actually have an effect on the overall health of the game but where it currently stands they may be committing blasphemy, it's taking money in for them. MTG isn't dead
