I agree Allen, that Popeye cover is so cool! I love it! Didn’t know it existed until now! I hope they release a reprint of that cover because I would buy it in a heartbeat!!

Hi Allan, I remember you showing that Popeye book on the Monday show 2 or 3 weeks ago. I love that cover, the exaggerated cartoony, caricature style, the look of Olive Oyl. I looked for that book but couldn’t find it anywhere. I checked the census to discover incredibly high sales prices, including what I’ve now learned through this video, your purchase of the 9.6 for $500+. Even if I found it, I couldn’t pay that much unfortunately. Thanks for another great unboxing video.

I really like the fact that you will buy books in any (or very low graded) condition if you think they are worth it, or at least noteworthy covers/stories. The BM #1 that we both bid on recently on MCS, was for sure the very worst condition comic I have ever bid on.... but I am trying to get better and it doesn't hurt that the book was one of the top grails in all of comics. LOL I am trying to get better, because some of these GA books really are "priceless" in any condition, just so you can have one. Regarding the Popeye book, you are spot on. If she looked like that years ago, I would be a life long Popeye collector! 😂 Also love the cover art...it is soooo GA looking! Here is another question for your Q&A video: What would say are the top 5 comic grails in all of comics, that are *Unobtainable* for the regular/average collector? AND, what would you consider the top 5 comic grails in all of comics, that are *Obtainable* for the regular/average collector?

The artist who drew that Popeye cover also draws Fearless Dawn. That Mystery Men issue you scored is so cool!

I really enjoy your videos. Have you ever looked for appearances of the Saint? He is one of my favorite Golden Age characters. Keep posting and happy hunting!

I'm actually trying to complete the Saint (golden age) run. I'm only one issue away.

You see what happened was his left arm ate his right. That’s why it’s so big: bloating.

You spend way too much time talking about the book before you show it. It’s very annoying.
